Ginetta Junior Scholarship

The Ginetta Junior Championship is the UK’s highest profile series for young drivers wanting to cut their teeth in the high-octane world of motorsport. Supporting the famous British Touring Car Championship and offering massive television exposure on ITV, the series is a genuine avenue into top level racing including Formula One and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Silverstone Ginetta Junior Academy 2011 – which will be organised in association with Northampton’s world-class Formula One circuit, giving another racing wannabe the chance to win a fully-funded season in the Ginetta Junior Championship 2012.

Youngsters from all over the country will be invited to attend a series of scholarship dates this summer at Silverstone, giving them the chance to get behind the wheel of the 1800 CC Zetec-engined Ginetta G40 - with the aim of reaching a grand final which will be held in the autumn.

Level 1 - May-August

The first of three levels, level 1 of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship consists of an initial driver assessment to establish basic awareness of clutch, brake and throttle control. Drivers will also be assessed on basic co-ordination of driving through a set course in our Renault Clio Cup Car. Drivers will then progress on to our Southern Circuit for introductory track instruction and further assessment in a Ginetta G40.

Level 2

Out of the participants, those who are successful will then be invited to attend the second stage of this experience. Level 2 is priced at £250. More details on this stage will be released shortly.

Level 3

The lucky participants that go through to the final will be entered free of charge by Silverstone. The best 20 drivers will go through to this round.

Driver Requirements
• Age - 14 - 17 years*
• Height Requirements - 4ft 10ins - 6ft 3ins
• Maximum Weight - 18st
• Driving license: - Partcipants do not require a licence for this experience, but will need to have participated in Rookie Drive Level 1 if no previous driving experience

Cancellation Indemnity

Please note that Cancellation Indemnity can be purchased for £10.

Accident Damage Indemnity

Accident Damage Indemnity reduces the potential cost of accident damage from £1,500 to £0 and is available to purchase for £10. Accident Damage Indemnity can be purchased on the day of your Experience from the Silverstone Experience Centre.
