DUNLOP MSA BRITISH TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP

SILVERSTONE ROUND PREVIEW

DUNLOP MSA British Touring Car Championship - Silverstone round preview

THE British Touring Car Championship comes to Silverstone this weekend for the penultimate race in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship 2012 season.

Seven drivers will have a chance at the title, and with only 67 points up for grabs, each team has everything to play for.

Favourites include Gordon Shedden and Matt Neal of Honda Yuasa Racing Team, Jason Plato of MG KX Momentum Racing, Andrew Jordan of Pirtek Racing, Robert Collard and Tom Onlsow-Cole of eBay Motors and Mat Jackson of Redstone Racing.

But which one is going to be crowned 2012 Champion?

“It’s a big weekend ahead of us,” explains Michael Butler, Sales Product Manager for Dunlop Motorsport. “It all depends on the conditions. If it’s wet, the MGs will win all the way, but if it’s dry, then you’ll definitely have to look out for Team Honda.”

Last year’s winner, Matt Neal is currently second behind teammate Gordon Shedden, with Jason Plato in third.

“Plato is going to have to make a big move if he wants this championship – it’s make or break,” said Michael. “If he comes away with low points this weekend, the other drivers will have to watch out for him at Brands Hatch because he’s very good at that circuit.”

Qualifying starts tomorrow afternoon at 3:10pm, while the final leg takes place on Sunday at 5:15pm.

Tickets are still available to purchase on the gate.
