Silverstone MotorSport UK, taking place in Silverstone’s state-of-the-art Pit and Paddock Complex – the Silverstone Wing, will showcase all categories of national motorsport. More than 100 exhibitors from the national motorsport field will be displaying their services and products, including car manufacturers, national racing series, racing clubs, suppliers and industry associations. Over 4,000 visitors are expected over the two days, making the show the largest exhibition to date in The Wing.
Highlights of The Silverstone Motorsport UK 2012 event will include:
The Kit Car Pavilion - A showcase of some of the UK’s top kit car and specialist car manufacturers, in association with Kit Car Magazine and Total Kit Car magazine
Go Motorsport: Motorsport UK Kart Challenge - visitors will have the opportunity to race for the title of the Go Motorsport - Motorsport UK champion
Autograph sessions - with some of the biggest names of British motor sport, including drivers from the worlds of the British Touring Car, British Rally, Formula 2 and Formula 3 Championships.
The inaugural Spirit of Motorsport Awards - a £10,000 prize fund, shared amongst rising talents in motor sport
The show will also make use of Stowe Circuit, Silverstone’s infield track with its own facilities, as part of The Silverstone LIVE Experience, while The Track Driver Hot Laps Experience will provide visitors with some hands-on time with vehicles and teams.
On-track the Walter Hayes Trophy, the largest race meeting for Formula Ford cars in the world, will be taking place on Silverstone’s National Circuit. Living up to its billing as a crowd favourite, the knock-out format regularly attracts over 150 drivers, from talented newcomers to experienced veterans, generating close racing and nail-biting tension.
Marking the end of a busy weekend, Silverstone will be hosting a free fireworks and bonfire night on the Sunday for all members of the family to enjoy.
