Silverstone is celebrating after The Silverstone Wing, the circuit’s state-of-the-art event, conference and exhibition venue, was crowned ‘Large Event Space of the Year’ at the 2012 Event Awards last Friday (05 October), having been recognised as a rising star in the event industry.
The Event Awards celebrate the creative, exhibition and experiential sectors of the live events industry, while the Large Event Space Award recognises excellence within venues that can cater for 700 plus capacity events. The awards ceremony, which took place at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm, saw The Wing beat the Artillary Garden at HAC, Ponds Forge and 2011 winner Sheffield City Hall to the punch to pick up the prestigious accolade.
