Shedden wins race two
Gordon Shedden sets up a two-way fight for the BTCC title with victory in race two at Silverstone
Gordon Shedden will go up against Honda team-mate Matt Neal for the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship after victory in race two at Silverstone.
Shedden took the lead at the start and led throughout as Honda took a 1-2 finish, Neal taking second having slipped back to third on the opening lap.
Neal got back ahead of Tom Onslow-Cole when his Ford got out of shape at Brooklands, with the Team Aon man having to settle for third - albeit taking a podium finish for the first time this year.
Dave Newsham was a career best fourth after an impressive drive in his Special Tuning SEAT while Andrew Jordan and Tom Boardman rounded out the top six.
Jason Plato drove well to come from the back of the field to seventh, but it wasn't enough to keep his championship hopes alive as he can now no longer score the points needed to overhaul his rivals.
Tom Chilton, Alex MacDowall and Dan Welch rounded out the top ten - the latter scoring for the first time.
Mat Jackson again failed to score after a puncture while James Nash, the new Independents' champion, was also outside the top ten after an action packed race for the Triple Eight man.
