Fans to vote for inaugural ‘Silverstone Media Awards’
- Fans to vote for favourite F1™ and MotoGP coverage in 2011

Silverstone has announced the launch of its first ever Silverstone Media Awards, inviting motor sport fans to vote for their favourite media coverage from the 2011 Formula 1 and MotoGP seasons.
A combined crowd of more than 450,000 attended Silverstone’s two flagship events in 2011 – the FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX and AirAsia British Grand Prix (MotoGP) – and even more have an opinion on their beloved sports. Following exciting seasons in both championships, Silverstone is now inviting fans to help crown journalists who have kept us up-to-date, throughout the year, with all the latest news and gossip from the worlds of F1™ and MotoGP.
Fans can cast their votes now* via an ‘App’ on Silverstone Circuit’s Facebook page: Silverstone/Media Awards. All votes need to be in by 12:00hrs on 21 December, 2011**.
Categories include, best ‘National Newspaper’ coverage for both race series; best ‘motor sport’ magazine and best ‘bike publication’; best bloggers and tweeters; best website; and the best feature produced by the BBC F1™ team during the 2011 season.
All entries will be included in an incredible prize draw to win two hospitality places** to either the FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX (06 – 08 July), or the MotoGP British Grand Prix (15 – 17 June) in 2012. Ten runners-up will each receive a Silverstone Goody Bag**.
