Silverstone Circuit is re-created in ice by Laponie ice driving
Head to Swedish Lapland for a unique experience driving on ice
For the most passionate and demanding individuals in search of exhilarating thrills and new experiences, Laponie Ice Driving offers a chance to drive exceptional vehicles on ice tracks which are exact replicas of famous Formula 1 circuits in the middle of the Far Swedish North. Silverstone are delighted to announce that the 2012 Laponie Ice Driving season which will take place from January through to March will include a full size version of the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit
Drivers can experience Silverstone on ice in one of the cars from the impressive Laponie fleet which will be made up of 23 sports vehicles including a Porsche Boxter, a Mitsubishi EVO IX, a Porsche Cayman S, a Porsche 997 GT3, and the latest addition for 2012, a Corvette Z06 with 513 horsepower.
This perfectly safe experience is coordinated by experienced instructors with a complete knowledge of the rules of ice driving. Participants can choose between an array of 16 packages allowing them to pick the program and duration that most suits their experience and requirements. Participants spend 4 hours per day driving with the instructors by their side. For real aficionados, one can even reserve a car and instructor for 8 hours in one day, without having to share the driver’s seat.
Nestled just a few kilometers south of the polar circle, the Laponie Ice Driving tracks are located in the village of Arjeplog in Swedish Lapland about 60 miles from Arvidsjaur.
