Silverstone set for World Superbike spectacular

- High expectations for the Brit Five
- Kids go free*
- Non-stop entertainment, on and off the track

Silverstone Circuit plays host to the British round of the ENI FIM Superbike World Championship on 03 – 05 August and with spectacular action and an exhilarating atmosphere guaranteed, the five British riders can expect plenty of home support from the partisan crowd.

The Brits have put in a great performance so far this season. With Honda World Superbike Team rider Jonathan Rea currently third in the championship, and Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing) and Leon Haslam (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) fifth and sixth respectively, there are high expectations of seeing a Brit on the podium at their home race.

Providing plenty of overtaking opportunities, Silverstone’s fast and flowing 3.666 mile Grand Prix circuit is loved by the riders and is the ideal opportunity for fans to get behind home heroes Jonathan Rea, Tom Sykes, Leon Haslam, Chaz Davies and Leon Camier.

In addition to the two World Superbike races on the Sunday there are a host of support races to look forward to. Sam Lowes, currently second, will be flying the flag for the Brits in the World Supersport Championship, while Kev Coghlan and John Simpson will be competing in the Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600 races respectively. The European Junior Cup completes the line-up of on-track action.

Providing a great start to the summer holidays, Silverstone’s kids go free policy* (for children aged 15 and under) is another great way for families to get behind the British riders.

Away from the track, Silverstone has lined up an extensive range of off-track entertainment for all members of the family, including:

  • Stunt shows with performances from Craig Jones and the Bold Dogs Freestyle Motocross Team
  • Air displays by the Red Devils Parachute Regiment Freefall Team
  • Interactive zones where fans can try out their own bike skills with Honda – My First Licence, Silverstone’s Rookie Ride and Mick Extance Trials Bike Experience

  • In addition, fans can also look forward to funfair rides, manufacturer displays and trade stalls in the Arena Entertainment Zone.

A free shuttle bus service will help fans get around the venue, while Silverstone TV (shown on three giant screens around the circuit) and Silverstone Radio will keep fans up-to-speed with all the on-track action.
