Silverstone Circuit Adds Silverware at MIA Awards

Silverstone Circuit, home of the British Grand Prix, has picked up this year's Service to Industry award at the prestigious Motorsport Industry Association Awards ceremony, held at the Autosport International Show.

More than 550 business leaders from the world of Motorsport applauded the decision to bestow Silverstone with the award, in recognition for its contributions to the motorsport industry. In particular the award acknowledged the work Silverstone has done with the BRDC (on the Silverstone Masterplan) to secure the future of the Grand Prix along with its contribution to tourism, education initiatives and employment at the heart of motorsport valley.

Aston Martin GT driver and former defence procurement minister, Lord Drayson, presented the award to managing director of Silverstone Circuits Ltd, Richard Phillips.

Richard Phillips said: "This award is a huge accolade from our industry and a great testament to everyone from within the business and the BRDC, both past and present, who have worked so hard to raise the profile of Silverstone and create harmony within the Club."

Previous winners of this industry accolade include MIRA, Autosport International Show and A1 GP.
