THE BEST IN WORLD AND UK MOTOR RACING

WELCOME TO SILVERSTONE, HOME OF THE MOST EAGERLY ANTICIPATED EVENT ON THE UK SPORTING CALENDAR, THE 2008 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX.

All eyes were on British FORMULA 1 ™ sensation Lewis Hamilton at last year's British Grand Prix and, following a record breaking rookie season, Hamilton will be the one to watch at the 2008 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX, at Silverstone, on 4-6 July.

While the British Grand Prix is Silverstone's flagship event, the circuit's 2008 calendar also offers fans a world class line-up of domestic and highly-respected international championships.

FROM SPORTS CARS AND CLASSICS
TO THE BEST OF BRITISH AND LE MANS

Silverstone's action-packed calendar of events gets underway in April when the opening round of the FIA GT Championship - the world's premier sports car series - heads to Silverstone for its only UK appearance in 2008.

The FIA GT championship attracts some of the biggest names and marques in world motor sport. 2007 saw Formula One legend Nigel Mansell making his FIA GT debut at the Northamptonshire circuit, and this year a similar pedigree of drivers will be battling it out for the prestigious Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy at Silverstone on 19-20 April. Following an official FORMULA 1 ™ test in June and the 2008 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX on the 4-6 July, Formula One cars then return to the home of British motor sport, just three weeks later, for the Silverstone Classic on 25-27 July.

The Silverstone Classic - known in the 1990s as the Coys International Historic Festival - is one of Europe's largest classic motor racing events, bringing together a unique gathering of classic road and race cars. 2008 will also celebrate the circuit's 60th anniversary.

In August and September Silverstone then serves-up the best of British, hosting the British F3 / GT Championship on 16-17 August and the return of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship on 30-31 August.

September also brings the stars and cars from the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans - the world's most famous endurance race - to Silverstone for a round of the Le Mans Endurance Series (13-14 September), while the Britcar 24 Hour race on 19-21 September , as seen on Top Gear in 2007, will deliver an adrenaline-fuelled 24 hour endurance epic.

Rounding-off what promises to be a superb season of two and four-wheeled motor sport at Silverstone, will be the nation's premier motorcycle racing series - the Bennetts British Superbike Championship. Expectations on the 27-28 September will be high as the riders and teams compete in the penultimate round of the Superbike series.

A great family experience

Silverstone is the perfect venue for a family day-out, offering plenty of activities both on and off-track, to entertain fans of all ages. Entry to all events is free-of-charge for children aged 15 and under (excluding the 2008 FORMULA 1 SANTANDER BRITISH GRAND PRIX).

2008 promises to be another memorable year for Silverstone as the circuit celebrates its diamond anniversary. For further information on individual events use the links on the left hand side, or call 08704 588 260.
