1 – Definitions
- ‘You’ means the person, firm or company doing attending and/or booking a Course.
- ‘Silverstone’ means the Motorsport Academy of Silverstone Circuits Limited.
- ‘Course’ means the particular course that you have agreed to attend on a specific Date.
- ‘Course Date’ means the date on which You have agreed to attend on.
- ‘Confirmation’ means the confirmation sent to You stating the Course and Date booked.
- ‘Agreement’ means the Confirmation together with these terms and conditions.
2 – Application of these Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply in respect of all Courses delivered by Silverstone under this Agreement on the Date and no modification thereof is binding on Silverstone unless in writing and signed by a Director of Silverstone. The terms and conditions override any other terms or conditions stipulated, incorporated or referred to by You. The Agreement shall not be assignable, and such Agreement shall be governed by and construed in all respect in accordance with the laws of England and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
3 – Payment – ALL COURSES
Full payment must be made upon booking a Course either by credit/debit card (most major cards are accepted), cheque or postal order. If paying by cheque, your place on a Course will not be confirmed until Silverstone has received the cheque and it has received cleared funds.
4 – Cancellations
Should You have problems attending a Course, we will require at least 14 days notice, otherwise the full cost of the Course will apply. Should You need to cancel a booked Course, notice will need to be given in writing stating the reason. Refunds cannot be provided; a credit voucher will be issued that is valid for 6 months to the value of your booking less a £50 administration fee and any unrecoverable costs already incurred by Silverstone.
5 – Your Commitment
No Alcohol can be consumed before or during the Course and we reserve the right to refuse participation on a Course to persons we suspect to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. In such circumstances, Silverstone will not rebook the Course or make any refund. All Courses require the wearing of an approved crash helmet, this is mandatory and there are no exceptions.
6 – Public Liability Indemnity
The very nature of our driving Courses mean that some personal risk may be involved in taking part in the activities we offer and You should be aware of this when booking. We require the driver’s signature on a registration form before participation is allowed. On this form you will certify you are medically fit to undertake and participate in the Course. Please note that some medical conditions preclude certain drivers from taking part. For further details, please speak to a member of our Sales Team. Silverstone has third party and public liability insurance cover for all its operations. Silverstone does not provide personal insurance to drivers.
7 – ‘Own car’ Tuition Courses
When using your own car at Silverstone, you are solely responsible for the condition and worthiness of the vehicle to participate in the Course and you accept full financial responsibility for any damage to your car, however caused.
8 – Drivers without Full UK (or equivalent) Driving Licence
Any driver without a full UK (or equivalent) driving licence must have successfully passed a Motorsport Academy Novice Driver Assessment before taking part in any Course. If more information is required, please call the Sales Team. Silverstone cannot take responsibility for anyone under 18 years of age. It is therefore the responsibility of the parent/guardian to confirm to Silverstone and make all necessary arrangements for the participant. In the event that Silverstone is dissatisfied with arrangements made, Silverstone shall have the option at its sole discretion to cancel the Course.
9 – Age, Height and Weight Restrictions
Our Courses have age, height and weight restrictions imposed; minimum age 14, minimum height 5ft 2”, maximum height 6ft 2” and maximum weight 16 stone. If you have any doubts or questions, please call the Sales Team
10 – Force Majeure and the Weather
All our Courses are offered subject to availability of dates, vehicles, facilities and of course the weather and there can be no guarantee that a particular date will not be withdrawn due to extreme adverse weather conditions. If we are unable to run your Course due to extreme adverse weather conditions or other events beyond our control such as any governmental restrictions, adverse weather, riot, commotion, acts of God, industrial action, breakdown of plant or any failure of gas, water services, electricity etc., we will let you know with as much notice as possible. In such circumstances, your Course will be re-scheduled. When taking part in a race meeting, Silverstone cannot be held responsible for any cancellations or stoppages by the organising club at that race meeting and refunds/credits cannot be given.
11 – Complaints
Any complaints must be received in writing by Silverstone within 28 days of the Course Date. Silverstone shall not be liable for any complaints received after that period.
12 – Changes
We reserve the right to make changes to the advertised prices, but of course, this will not affect you if you have already booked and paid for a Course. All information and prices are correct at the time of going to press. Whilst it is our intention to offer Courses as described, some revisions may be necessary. Our Sales Team will be able to advise you of any amendments.
13 – Accident Damage Indemnity
Accident Damage Indemnity reduces the potential cost of accident damage from £5,000 to £1,000 and is available to purchase for £20. Accident Damage Indemnity can be purchased in advance at the time of booking or on the day of your Experience from the Silverstone Experience Centre.
