WHAT'S INCLUDED

The RetroRun is a fun drive experience (it's not a speed event or a competition) through some of Britain’s finest countryside and prettiest villages following a ‘Tulip’ style Road Book. It operates in two directions and there are two options - 70 miles and  100 miles.

You will meet-up at Stowe House early in the morning on Saturday 27 August and set off from there - taking in some of the best of Britain's countryside along the way, before finishing in the heart of the event on Saturday afternoon.

  • Two adult three-day general admission tickets
  • Special access to a display area for all 3 days
  • Tea or coffee at Stowe House for the RetroRun start on Saturday
  • Visit to the British Motor Museum
  • Rally plaque for your car
  • The chance to drive around the Grand Prix track in a Parade lap*

You must select the correct package for the age of your car - there is an option for tax exempt cars (pre 1982) and an option for non-tax exempt cars (1982+).

THE RETRORUN ROUTE

Each car starts the RetroRun at an allocated time between 08.00 and 10.00 at Stowe House near Buckingham (a short 5 minute drive from Silverstone). Interesting places passed on the RetroRun route include:

  • Weston Hall & Crown Inn, Canons Ashby (National Trust), Butcher’s Arms, Cropredy Bridge, Tuthill Porsche, Farnborough Hall (National Trust), Burton Dassett Hills Country Park, DSDA Kineton
  • The British Motor Museum (entry included as part of the RetroRun)- home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars;  nearly 300 cars span the veteran, vintage and classic eras.
  • Jaguar Land Rover Gaydon, Compton Verney, Sun Rising Hill, Upton House (National Trust), Castle Inn Edge Hill, Broughton Castle, RAF Barford St John, Aynhoe Park, RAF Croughton

These are ‘gazetteer’ notes on some of the places that RetroRunners pass en route on Saturday 27 August. They are included for general interest and to point out some hidden gems but some may not be visible from the route and/ or open to the public. The aim of the RetroRun is to have fun and enjoy a drive in the country!
