RENAULT SPORT TO SUPPORT INAUGURAL SPEEDMACHINE

French manufacturer Renault has confirmed that it will officially support the upcoming Speedmachine festival [25-27 May, 2018], which incorporates the British leg of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy.

Showcasing the All-New Renault Mégane R.S., visitors to the three-day Speedmachine festival will be treated to an exclusive opportunity to test-drive the Silverstone national circuit in the brand new machinery. There will also be a number of passenger rides in the All-New Renault Mégane R.S., which boasts 4CONTROL four-wheel steering.

The Renault announcement was made at an exclusive Speedmachine networking evening staged in London earlier this month, with a view to more manufacturer involvement to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Paul Bellamy, World RX Managing Director for IMG, spoke positively about the new collaboration between Renault and Speedmachine: “The fact that we can offer automotive fans a chance to test Renault’s latest machinery on a Formula One circuit is a very exciting prospect,” explained Bellamy. “We have a Renault Mégane Supercar as part of the World RX action, as well as the All-New Renault Mégane R.S. for fans to drive which makes Speedmachine the ideal platform for manufacturers to promote their latest machinery. We are now speaking to a number of other manufacturers about their involvement.”

Adam Wood, Marketing Director, Groupe Renault UK, said: “The first ever Speedmachine will mark the UK debut of All-New Mégane R.S. – and visitors will get to have a taste of Renault Sport’s expertise. The Mégane R.S. has become synonymous with high-performance and driving enjoyment for almost fifteen years, so I’m sure all passenger rides in the All-New version will be thrilling. Renault has more in store for visitors to enjoy at Speedmachine and further details will be announced closer to the time.”
