Free Entry and Free Entertainment
Silverstone Circuit will be opening its gates to celebrate the start of the 2016 racing season on Easter Sunday, 27 March, with free admission for everyone! The day will be filled with entertainment for all the family, plus racing on the Grand Prix Circuit from the British Automobile Racing Club.
Not only is entry to the circuit free of charge, there will also be a wide variety of free entertainment available. Free activities will include hovercrafting, electric go-karts, a giant Scalextric, racing simulators, Easter egg hunts, Action Wheels children’s cycling activity, a reptile show, mobile gaming, face painting and body art, pit stop challenges, crazy golf, a penalty shootout and a climbing wall. Titan the Robot will also be making an appearance roaming around the venue along with balloon modellers, a magician and stilt walkers.
The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team will be at Silverstone displaying their 2016 F1® show car with a garage set up as it would be at a Formula 1® Grand Prix for fans to look around. They will also be running a simulator experience where the latest Playstation F1® game can be driven from the seat of a real F1® car and a Pit Stop Challenge where adult fans can change a wheel on a real F1® car. Members of the Mercedes F1 Team will also be on hand to answer any questions and to give out autograph cards signed by the team’s F1® drivers.
Other activities on offer include high speed passenger rides, Rookie Drive and Rookie Ride experiences and a mini tour of Silverstone (a small charge applies to these activities).
In addition to the entertainment off track, there will be a full day of racing on the Grand Prix Circuit. Championships racing include the Luna Logistics Classic Formula Ford 1600 Championship, the Kumho BMW Championship, Caterham Graduates Championship and the British Superkart Series, all of which should provide some fantastic racing on the day.
