Silverstone to host Event Industry Cyclathon

The Silverstone Wing Conference & Exhibition Centre will play host to a unique event industry charity event on 25 May, as 5 teams of event industry luminaries take to the track in an endurance cycle ride fundraiser.

The winners will be the team who can complete the most laps of Silverstone’s Grand Prix Circuit in 3 hours. The Silverstone Wing team is made up of Chris Zachar (Head of Sales), Oliver Wiltshire (Corporate Sales Manager), Hannah Irving (Finance Director), Katie Tyler (Head of Marketing and Communications) and James Holifield (Venue Manager) will be challenged by four other teams representing all aspects of the MICE industry and supporting some pretty inspiring charities

Chris Zachar, Head of Sales at Silverstone Circuits said, “We are all looking forward to hosting this event especially as it’s all about good causes in the event industry and it makes great use of the flexibility and usability of the venue and event spaces. The other teams seem to be very accomplished riders so we are slightly nervous about the challenge ahead!”

The four other teams will be headed up by leading event industry figures, Trever Foley of tfconnect riding for Events for Namuwongo, Laura Moody of Blondefish riding for Walk Tall, Nick Grecian of Gallowglass representing Howards Way Walk and Richard Waddington of Event Marketing Association who will also be riding for Meeting Needs.

Speaking about the event Laura Moody said, “This is a wonderful initiative. Cycling is hugely popular amongst event professionals and being able to ride on the Silverstone Circuit with the support of the events team and the Silverstone Wing itself is very exciting.”

Silverstone will be riding in aid of the Meeting Needs charity and if anyone would like to support us with a donation then please follow this link.
