The Britcar 24 hours, the UK’s only serious twice-round-the-clock race, returns to Silverstone’s Bridge Grand Prix circuit on the weekend of 1– 3 October.
This year’s endurance epic will feature, as always, a stunning array of performance cars. Separated into four classes, the field will range from high-spec saloons such as MG, Honda Civic and Renault Clio, up to purpose-built sports-racing and GT cars like Mosler, Aquila and Ginetta Sitting in the middle of these two categories, there are production supercars from BMW, Ferrari, Lotus and Porsche. All sharing the same track; each will be on their own quest for glory, whilst being mindful that there are slower cars to negotiate, or faster ones to avoid. If the excitement of multi-class endurance racing is not enough, the Britcar 24 hours is enhanced by the spectacle of night-time racing, and the challenge that brings to the drivers and teams .
It’s not all about the one race either – the three action-packed days include a full supporting programme of races to thrill all tastes, from production cars, through sports cars, to single seaters, all building up to the big event, which starts late on Saturday afternoon.
Away from the track there is plenty to keep the whole family entertained.
