As one of the most evocative races in the history of International motorsport, the Le Mans 24 Hours has become a pilgrimage for racing fans. With the advent of the Le Mans Series, however, fans of endurance racing now have an entire season of action to look forward to. The Le Mans Series pits the very best competitors from the fabled 24-Hour Classic against each other at some of the World's greatest racing circuits for the honour of being crowned LMS champions.
No international calendar purporting to have the best circuits in the world would be complete without Silverstone, and so it is that from 11 to 12 September 2010, the Home of British Motorsport plays host to this enthralling championship.
Comprising of only five events over the course of the season, Silverstone's place on the calendar and the importance of this race is highlighted by its position as the championship finale, where so much can be won and lost. With the cars and drivers set to compete for 1000Km, it will be one of the sternest challenges of the season, after the classic Le Mans 24 Hours itself.
Anything can happen in the world of endurance and as always the Autosport 1000Km of Silverstone promises to be a thriller.
Audi, Peugeot and Aston Martin LMP1 Teams will be battling it out at this classic Silverstone event. With new teams and new faces also lining up on the grid, the Le Mans Series has year on year established a solid reputation for great racing and fan-friendly spectacle. At the end of what promises to be a brilliant season, this is one race not to miss.
