The stars and cars from the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans - the world's most famous endurance race - will be at Silverstone on 13 - 14 September.

Fans will witness legendary Le Mans cars competing in a 1000km race on the full Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone, as part of the Le Mans Endurance Series.

The 1000km race features at least two drivers per car, with a full grid of more than 50 cars racing for six hours of non-stop, intense competition. Four separate classes will compete in the championship, providing top class action in four races, all taking part within the same event.

Based on production supercars, the "LM"GT1 class is hugely popular among race fans. Representing road car manufacturers the sleek lines of supercars such as the Aston Martin DBR9, Chevrolet Corvette C6-R, Ferrari 550 Maranello and Saleen S7R take on the famous high speed corners and straights around Silverstone's Grand Prix circuit, including Copse, Becketts, Hangar Straight and Stowe.

"LM"GT2 is renowned for supplying a full grid of exotic supercars. The line-up at Silverstone in 2007 included the Porsche 997 GT3 RSR, Ferrari F430 GT, Panoz Esperante GTLM and the road car that lent its name to the former Silverstone-based F1 team - the Spyker C8 Spyder GT2R.
