2017 Octo British Grand Prix MotoGP™

25 Aug 2017 - 27 Aug 2017 25 Aug 2017 09:00 27 Aug 2017 18:00 Europe/London 2017 Octo British Grand Prix MotoGP™ The Circuit of Wales steps up a gear at this year’s British MotoGP™ as the spectacular race weekend is promoted solely by Britain’s newest leisure, business and motor sport venue! Silverstone Circuit

212Days 18Hours

Overview

The British MotoGP™ moves to the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 25-27) in 2017 – and with the new earlier summer date, spectacular racing and three entertainment-fuelled days taking place at Silverstone, it’s going to be a race weekend not to be missed.

The best riders in the world will compete on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in the race for the MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ world titles – in what always turns out to be spectacular racing.

Who can forget the amazing 2016 race? There was everything that the fans and global TV audience look for. Cal Crutchlow, fresh from his maiden MotoGP™ win, qualified on pole and finished second after a thrilling race-long duel with Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez, Andrea Iannone and Dani Pedrosa. Out in front, Maverick Vinales gave Suzuki its first win since its return to the championship and there was even a Red Flag following a massive crash involving Loris Baz and Pol Espargaro.

The on-track action promises to be just as exciting in 2017. But importantly for race fans and their families, there will be a big emphasis on family entertainment around the whole of Silverstone – with a massive Grand Prix Village hosting live bands on stage to entertain the crowds every night, a bigger family fairground, more displays and a bigger variety of food and drink outlets. And as Bank Holiday Monday follows the race day, there will be a big Race Day Party held after the racing has finished on Sunday evening.

The 2017 MotoGP™ is promoted by The Circuit of Wales and the race will be run at Silverstone until the purpose-built £375 million South Wales valley venue is completed.

BBC Children In Need
As an official supporter of this year’s BBC Children In Need Appeal, the promoters of the British MotoGP™ are proud and delighted to donate £1,786 to the fantastic BBC UK charity.
