Approaching from the M40 exit at junction 10 and follow the A43 signposted for Northampton. A few miles after the town of Brackley follow the brown tourist signs (with the chequered flag emblem) to our main entrance

  • TAXIS

As in past years, there will be taxi and private hire vehicle dropping off and pick-up points on Brackley Road, Silverstone.

There have been complaints of over-charging in the past, and as a result, the council's licensing officers have had a meeting with local private hire operators and taxi drivers. Private hire fares are not set by the local authority. However, customers should not expect to pay more than about £35 for a journey from Silverstone to Banbury, or Northampton, or Milton Keynes. Notices will be displayed in and around Silverstone & Whittlebury.

This year a number of South Northamptonshire Council licensed taxis will be working in the area. These vehicles will have a unique licence plate (GP01, GP37, etc) and will display a yellow 'TAXI' sign in the front windscreen. They will be the only vehicles allowed to pick up passengers without having been pre-booked. If you see any others vehicles in the area, they are either illegally plying for hire or waiting for a customer who has pre-booked a journey. You should not get into a taxi or private hire vehicle without having pre-booked it as the driver will be uninsured and you may be at risk.
