COVID

Following the latest Government update and relaxation of Covid-19 Measures in England we have introduced some changes to the way our Experiences are run.

As the wearing of masks and social distancing are no longer a legal requirement the use of these measures will not be enforced. Of course should you feel more comfortable you’re absolutely welcome to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing where possible.

Be assured that we will continue to provide plenty of Hand Sanitising Stations around the site for your use.

You’ll also notice that we will continue to enforce some of these measures with our staff, with the use of protective screens, face masks and social distancing. This is nothing to worry about and is focussed one ensuring our team stay as safe as possible to allow us to continue to deliver unforgettable events throughout the summer.

Prior to departure to Silverstone please consider the following:

Are you are experiencing any of the common Covid-19 Symptoms, including a new persistent cough, high temperature, loss of taste and smell? Should you be experiencing any of these symptoms please do not attend the event and ensure you book a PCR test.

If you have been identified as a close contact needing to self-isolate you must not attend the event.

If you are unable to attend for these reasons you must:

  • Send an email to [email protected] as soon as you are aware, if this is on the day please phone us on 01327 320421 (PLEASE NOTE this phone number is only operational on Drive Event dates).
  • Notifications must reach us by 8.30am on the day of your booked Experience. Non-notification will be treated as a no show and no refund and/or reschedule will be permitted.
  • You will need to arrange a COVID-19 PCR test sending the test results within 7 days, or provide proof of your close contact notification from NHS Track & Trace.  We will then be able to re schedule your Experience, Rebooked Experiences must be taken within 3 months from the date of your original Experience Date.
Tickets

If you’ve booked a Drive Silverstone experience date you will not need to download a ticket to attend. In the week leading up to your experience you should receive a link to an online indemnity form and full joining instructions, providing all the information you need to drive like a pro! All you’ll need to bring along on the day is your Driving License.

On The Day

We recommend leaving as much travel time as possible, there’s plenty to do and see at Silverstone and we won’t turn you away for arriving early on the day. Also keep in mind there is a 10-15 minute drive from the site entrance to your experience. You’re asked to arrive at least 1 hour prior to your experience to allow for licence checks and registration.

Our Drive Events are popular and usually run at capacity, therefore should you arrive late, having missed you group safety briefing time, you will be unable to drive and your experience will be lost. In this case your experience is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Yes our experiences will run in wet weather conditions and we take every measure possible to ensure we can operate safely in the majority of weather scenarios. In the run up to any event weekend our team closely monitor the weather and should there be any forecast likely to affect the running of our events we’ll be in touch via email. You can also call our weather line for updates 01327 320 421 (Please note this is only live on our event days).

We do not make the decision to cancel an event lightly, however the health and safety for our attendees and those delivering your experience is our priority and we want to ensure your experience exceeds your expectations.

Whilst we always prefer to see the physical copy of your license, we do understand that this isn’t always possible. In order to take part in your Drive Experience we do need verification of your license status, therefore if you’re unable to provide your physical valid driving license, you will need to provide a DVLA check code to our team.

The DVLA check code is the online counterpart of your photo card driving license. The check code allows you to view and share you driving license information and is valid for 21 days.

To obtain a DVLA check code you will need to visit www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence. You will be asked for your full driving licence number, National Insurance number and your postcode, so make sure you have them handy.

You will then need to:

  • Click on the tab to share your licence information
  • Then click the green button which says "create a code"
  • Underneath your code there will be a link to say "view, print or save your licence information" which you will again need to click
  • A PDF pop up will then appear. Simply select save and, this will then give you the option to save it to your documents.
  • Once copies of all licences have been saved, you will need to bring copies of these, printed or on a mobile device and present them to our registration staff on the day.

PLEASE NOTE: licence holders must use the 'Share your licence information' functionality when providing their licence information. Screen prints of the 'Your Details', 'Vehicles you can drive' and 'Penalties and disqualifications' pages, are not intended for sharing and cannot be accepted.

These are the ONLY forms of license proof that our team can accept and without either of these you will be unable to complete your driving experience.

You will be sent detailed joining instructions in the week prior to your experience. Keep an eye on your emails for the most up to date information relevant to your experience.

If you’ve booked a Drive Silverstone experience date you will not need to download a ticket to attend. Unfortunately we’re unable to allow any pets on site (other than pre-confirmed assistance dogs). Any one arriving with a pet will be denied access to the site which could result in the loss of your experience.

We absolutely recommend bringing your fan club! You’re welcome to bring as many guests with you as you like. All we ask is that anyone under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult at all times.

A member of our team will be happy to point out the best viewing locations when you arrive on site.

Yes! We always love seeing your photos from the day, whether it’s seeing you hitting the apex at Luffield or channelling your racing idols in the Formula Single Seater, we welcome you and your guests to take as many photos as you wish. Unfortunately, we are unable to allow you to take any photos from within the vehicle during your experience due to Health and Safety regulations.

What to Wear

Think comfortable! We recommend wearing long sleeves and shoes with a flat, flexible sole. As we're an open circuit we also recommend wearing clothing that suits the weather with a choice of layers.

Driving one of our open top vehicles? If you’re set to drive the Formula Single Seater or Caterham, please be aware that wet weather suits are not provided, so best to bring a change of clothes!

Please note: Flip-flops and high heels are not permitted.

Drive Silverstone will provide you with a race specification helmet which has gone through a strict anti-bacterial cleaning regime. Race suits are not a requirement for any of our experiences, but should you wish to channel your racing idols you’re welcome to wear your own!

No, if you require gloves for your experience we'll provide them for you.

If you'd would prefer to wear your own where these are not provided that's absolutely fine.
