The MG Car Club is the most active single Marque race organising Club in the UK.  The Club currently promotes and runs six motor race championships and two series. The Race Meetings, organised by the Car Club, take place at Silverstone, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Donington, Brands Hatch and other circuits around the country. The Club invites other club races to join it’s own events and regular visitors include Porsche, Morgan, BARC and many more.

Race Details

Featured Classes for this Silverstone round are:

MGCC MG Trophy Championship

For modern MG models, in four classes; Purpose-built 190bhp MG ZR, MGF/TF and LE500 race cars running on Dunlop (control) slicks/wets. Plus classes for road legal MG ZR and MGF/TF (160 bhp) running on MSA list 1A/B tyres.

MGCC PBIS MG Cup

The Peter Best Insurance Challenge is the only series that caters for all MGs ranging from T-Types through to Midgets, MGBs, MGCs to MGFs. There are classes for race modified, modified and road going cars.

MGCC Lackford Engineering Midget & Sprite Challenge

The Midget Challenge caters for the ever green post-war Midgets and Austin Healey Sprites racing in three classes, for full race modified cars, modified cars and road going cars

MGCC BCV8 Championship

The Club’s long established BCV8 Championship is the premier series for MGB and MGC racing, offering classes for the fully modified V8s to road going cars.

MGCC Drayton Manor Park MG Metro Cup

Low cost racing is offered by the Metro Cup which caters for the road going MG Metros to the faster Metro Turbos encompassing the Rover 100 and Metro GTa.

Equipe GTS

Equipe GTS is designed for pre 1966 cars with engines spread across five classes from under 1150cc to 2700cc. Running to Appendix K rules (FiA papers not demanded) our aim is to provide a competitive yet gentlemanly, safe and friendly race series with a high standard of driving and car preparation.

Equipe Pre 63

Equipe Pre ’63 is for Sports and GT cars running on Dunlop Historic Tyres. Equipe Pre ’63 is a series of races and not a championship. The aim is to re-create the vibrant clubman racing of the 50’s and early 60’s where fantastic classic sports cars can be driven on track by passionate amateur enthusiasts. By carefully selecting eligible cars, the series delivers close and exciting racing with an emphasis on competitive yet high driving standards.

MGCC Cockshoot Cup

The Cockshoot Cup is a solid silver trophy donated to the MGCC in the nineteen thirties by the then MG Dealers in Manchester. The cars are split into four classes. Class A is for standard cars using road legal treaded tyres (Midgets and MGBs); Class B is for road-modified cars still using road legal treaded tyres but with greater engine and transmission modifications (Midgets, MGBs, ZR 170, ZS); Class C is for fully-modified cars using racing tyres and with major body, engine and transmission modifications allowed (Midgets, MGBs, ZR190, ZS V6, MGF Cup Cars, MGTF LE 500); and Class F for road-going modified MGF and MGTF.

  • Where does my ticket permit access/ what are the ticket options?

    Your ticket includes roving grandstand seating, access to the National Paddock, access to the pit walk (day/time tbc)

  • Where will the giant screens be located?

    There will be no giant screens at this event.

  • Are there any cash machines on site?

    There is a cash machine located in the Pit Stop Cafe. Please note that this machine charges for cash withdrawals.

  • What credit/ debit cards do you accept?

    We accept most major credit and debit cards with the exception of Diners Club cards.

  • Can you purchase Silverstone merchandise at the event?

    Yes, Silverstone shops sell a variety of merchandise, please donload an event map to locate the shops. Alternatively merchandise is available to purchase online in advance to avoid disappointment

  • Can you purchase suncream/ batteries/ plasters/ cameras and medicines etc on site?

    Silverstone merchandise shops sell a limited selection essential items.

  • Pit Stop cafe/ media cafe opening times

    Pit Stop Café open – 7.30am to 19.00pm serving Hot food, Sandwiches, drinks and snacks.

  • Can i use my pushbike around the circuit?

    Bikes can sometimes be used at the circuit though they are not advised at the larger events as the circuit is too busy.

  • Can i leave the circuit and re-enter in one day?

    Yes this is possible – please ensure that the staff at the gate stamp your hand as you leave the circuit. Re entry to the site will only be permitted if the person has their hand stamped and is in possession of a valid ticket for the event. Please review the timetable to check last re-entry times each day.

  • Can i take photos?

    Photographic equipment, mobile telephones and other private communication devices are permitted within the venue provided that they are for personal and private non commercial purposes.

  • When will my tickets be despatched?

    Ticket despatch starts four to six weeks prior to the event but tickets may be sent out up to a week before the event.

  • I have not received my tickets by post

    Ticket despatch starts four to six weeks before the event, but tickets may be sent out anytime up until one week prior to the event. You will receive your tickets in advance either via First Class Royal Mail post or APC courier delivery. If you have not received your tickets please contact 0844 3750 740.

  • My ticket confirmation has my old delivery address on it, what should i do?

    Please forward the confirmation email to us on enquiries@silverstone.co.uk detailing your new address and a daytime contact number. We will then arrange for tickets to be despatched to your new address.

  • What age do you have to be classed as a child?

    15 years and under on the day of the event is classed as a child.

  • Do children need a ticket?

    Yes, children aged 15 and under will need a ticket for entry to the venue. Please ensure that you select the number of child tickets you require at the time of purchasing. One adult can accompany a maximum of four children. If you have any questions please call the Contact Centre on 0844 3750 740.

  • Can i purchase a ticket on the gate?

    Yes you can – we highly recommend buying in advance to avoid disappointment and to take advantage of the best ticket prices.

  • Ticket Collection Location and Opening Hours

    No ticket collection for this event – on the day sales from main gate.

  • Where can i park/ travel options?

    To ensure your visit to Silverstone runs as smoothly as possible please ensure you leave plenty of time for your journey and to make the most of your day. Parking onsite is free (with the exception of the British Grand Prix and MotoGP), please follow signs for public parking and take directions from our parking stewards. The nearest mainline train stations are Milton Keynes and Northampton. please check connecting bus services in order to ensure you arrive at Silverstone at a convenient time. Alternatively taxi journeys are approximately 30 minutes from these stations to Silverstone.

  • Where is the nearest train station?

    Silverstone is situated between three stations; Northampton, Milton Keynes and Banbury. They are all approximately 30 minutes from Silverstone.

  • Where can blue badge holders park?

    There are a number of disabled parking areas available, please call 0844 3728 232 for more information.

  • What time do the gates open?

    08:00

  • What time do car parks open?

    Car parks open up to half an hour before circuit gate opening times. Please note that this is subject to change.

  • How much does it cost to park?

    Parking is free of charge at this event.

  • Do I need a parking permit for my motorcycle?

    Parking for motorcycles is free and a permit is not required to park.

  • Can I camp at Silverstone?

    There are no camping facilities at Silverstone for this event, the nearest campsite is Whittlebury Park. Please contact Whittlebury Park on 01327 850 000.

  • Silverstone policy statement on illegal substances

    Silverstone Circuits Ltd and the police have a zero tolerance policy to illegal substances. The dealing in or use of illegal drugs is not condoned by Silverstone Circuits Ltd. Drug enforcement laws are as applicable on site as anywhere else in the country. Police officers and security guards will be onsite and will deal with drug offences in accordance with national guidelines. Neither anti-social nor illegal behaviour will be tolerated. You may be searched at the entrance. Any items which the organisers consider may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. Persons suspected of carrying out illegal and/ or offensive activities onsite may be searched. Offenders will be escorted off the site, and refused re-admission.
