Switch Live at The Classic

ANNOUNCING SWITCH LIVE AT THE CLASSIC POWERED BY MYENERGI

Adding yet another exciting new dimension to The Classic, this summer’s bumper Bank Holiday festival (26-28 August) will include Switch Live – a special feature showcasing the latest car technologies, giving festival go-ers the opportunity to experience the full spectrum of automotive evolution.

Visitors to the award-winning three-day event will be treated to not only the world’s biggest feast of retro racing all set on the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit but also an opportunity to test drive an impressive selection of electric cars on the beautiful open roads in the countryside surrounding the famous Formula 1 venue.

“We are delighted to be adding Switch Live to all that’s on offer at the Classic this summer,” confirmed Nick Wigley, CEO of The Classic promoter Goose Live Events. “We know from our research that more than 60 per cent of the Silverstone fanbase are either planning to buy an electric car or keen to find out more about ownership, so there is a huge demand to discover more. Our Switch Live feature will certainly provide a much better understanding of both the cars and the technologies on offer.

“With ever-increasing importance placed on family time, Switch Live will enable all those at The Classic to evaluate developments in car technology that will be relevant to their next purchase while enjoying a fabulous fun-fuelled Bank Holiday weekend at Silverstone.”

Ford, Genesis, Nissan and Polestar (photos below) are already confirmed among the forward-thinking manufacturers maximising this tremendous opportunity to engage with the large numbers of motoring enthusiasts attending The Classic – and more leading manufacturers will be announced in the coming weeks.

As well as providing a welcome chance for show-goers to sample alternatives to traditional internal combustion engine cars, all the exhibitors will have experts on hand to provide information and reassurance to temper anxieties about embracing the new technologies.

Offering yet more insight and assistance, Switch Live is being backed by myenergi, the pioneering organisation at the forefront of British renewable eco-smart technology innovation and manufacturing. As well as being the Official Electric Vehicle Charging Partner of The Classic, myenergi will have a large exhibition space within Switch Live where its experts will be available to answer questions about the move from combustion to lower carbon electric solutions. With its passion to put British manufacturing back on the world stage, myenergi’s partnership will further enrich the event’s central ‘Best of British’ theme too.

Jordan Brompton co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) said “ We are super excited to be sponsoring the very first Switch Live. The world of transport is changing, and at myenergi, we aim to make the transition to electric easy, and show the world just what is possible with electric. Being at Silverstone shows just how far transport has come over the years, to be introducing electric to the world stage through motorsport is a huge breakthrough and one we cant wait to be a part of.”

Other state-of-the-art companies exhibiting within the dedicated feature area include pay-as-you-go EV subscription service pacesetters Electric Zoo, clean energy providers GridServe, and electric vehicle and repair specialists, Cleevely EV Mobile.

Providing peace-of-mind for all those already travelling in electric vehicles to Silverstone, another of The Classic’s partners, RAC Motoring Services, will be providing support across the event with their industry-leading EV Boost – the modern day equivalent of the petrol can for EVs.

Switch Live at The Classic powered by myenergi is just one of a number of new attractions that will run alongside the unrivalled racecard of historic motorsport with huge grids featuring icons from all the sport’s golden eras.

With no Sunday evening rush to get home, an extra night of live music headed by chart-topper Rick Astley has been added to the 2022 bill as well as a mouth-watering new Foodie Fest. The latter will include presentations from celebrity chefs as well as the first-ever pop-up from Jeremy Clarkson’s TV famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop.

Providing exceptionally good value, all tickets for The Classic include access to Switch Live, Foodie Fest and the live music concerts held each evening as well as admission to the world-exclusive display of Lewis Hamilton’s seven title winning racers plus a special Formula 1 showcase, both racing paddocks, open trackside grandstand seating, fun fair rides, stunt shows, and interactive demos.
