F1 2026 Dutch Grand Prix results: Norris overcomes Antonelli to win at Zandvoort, Russell takes Sprint

Lando Norris claimed his second successive Formula 1 victory at a dramatic Dutch Grand Prix weekend at Zandvoort, which also saw George Russell win Saturday's Sprint.

George Russell claimed victory in Saturday's Sprint at Zandvoort, heading home Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris to take the eight points on offer.

Kimi Antonelli followed his Mercedes team-mate home in fourth, with Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen completing the top six. Lewis Hamilton came home seventh for Ferrari, while Arvid Lindblad and Oliver Bearman finished 10th and 15th respectively.

Lando Norris held off  Mercedes to win the Dutch Grand Prix, claiming his second victory in succession.

The race was stopped before the end of the opening lap after Max Verstappen and Gabriel Bortoleto were both caught out at the final corner. Norris lined up on pole for the resulting second start, but lost the lead to Kimi Antonelli into Turn 1, before fighting back to retake first place on Lap 54.

Antonelli settled for second, with George Russell completing the podium in third for Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton held off Charles Leclerc on the final lap to take fourth, with Leclerc fifth and Oscar Piastri sixth.

Arvid Lindblad was handed a drive-through penalty for gaining positions under yellow flags and dropped to 12th, while Oliver Bearman retired early with engine failure.

Norris fights back to win 

Having finished third in the Sprint, Lando Norris converted Grand Prix pole into an early lead, but his afternoon was interrupted before the opening lap was even complete. Max Verstappen was caught out at the final corner, triggering a red flag and setting up a second standing start.

Norris again lined up on pole for the restart, but this time it was Antonelli who made the better getaway, snatching the lead away from the McLaren driver into Turn 1.

After shadowing Antonelli for much of the race, Norris made his second pit stop of the afternoon on Lap 47, and by Lap 54 had worked his way back into contention. He completed a double move on Antonelli - around the outside of Turn 1 - and Hamilton later in the same lap to retake the lead, going on to seal his second consecutive victory of the season.

Antonelli leads for much of the race before settling for second

Kimi Antonelli enjoyed a strong opening exchange at Zandvoort, passing team-mate George Russell into Turn 1 to move up to second before the original start was red-flagged.

The Mercedes driver lined up second again for the restart and made the most of it, seizing the lead from Norris into Turn 1. And he looked to be in control for most of the race, until Norris completed his move for the lead on Lap 54, followed by a stop for the Italian under the Virtual Safety Car on Lap 56.

Unable to close in on Norris in the closing stages, Antonelli crossed the line second, still a strong result for the Mercedes driver who managed to extend his championship lead.

Russell recovers to complete the podium

George Russell, who had earlier won Saturday's Sprint, lost second place to team-mate Antonelli at the original start before holding third at the restart. Oscar Piastri then relegated him to fourth with a bold move into Turn 7 on Lap 5.

Russell pitted on Lap 17, rejoining in ninth on the Hard tyres. He made rapid progress back through traffic, undercutting Piastri, but on an alternate strategy was eventually asked to move over to let Antonelli through as the Mercedes driver chased after Norris for the lead.

Russell completed the podium in third, capping a strong weekend for the Briton after his Sprint victory the day before.

Hamilton holds off Leclerc to secure fourth

Lewis Hamilton started fifth and slipped to sixth on the opening lap, before recovering to retake fifth from Piastri on Lap 35 having made his stop for the Hard tyres.

The Ferrari driver made his final stop under the Virtual Safety Car on Lap 55, and found himself embroiled in a battle for the podium on the final lap - pressuring Russell for third while defending from team-mate Leclerc. Hamilton ultimately held on to fourth.

Lindblad penalised as Bearman retires early

Arvid Lindblad made progress at the original start, moving up to eighth when Verstappen spun off, but was later handed a drive-through penalty for gaining positions under yellow flags. 

The Racing Bulls driver spent the rest of the afternoon scrapping over the minor points positions with Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg, eventually dropping back to 12th by the flag.

Oliver Bearman's race was over almost as soon as it began. Starting 20th, the Haas driver retired with engine failure under an early Safety Car.
