Silverstone announces exclusive private aviation partnership with Air Charter Service
16 April 2025Silverstone has appointed leading aircraft and helicopter charter specialist, Air Charter Service (ACS), as its official private aviation partner. ACS will work closely with Silverstone over the course of the next two and half years to run its onsite heliport operation for all events, including at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix which attracts over 480,000 fans over the four day weekend and is the biggest weekend sporting event in the UK.
During the Formula 1 British Grand Prix weekend the Silverstone heliport becomes the busiest airspace in Europe and, this July, will welcome more than 6,000 passengers on over 1,500 flights. The Silverstone heliport will feature a brand new bespoke terminal that provides over 8,500 square feet of covered space to further enhance the customer experience.
Nick Read, Chief Commercial Officer at Silverstone said: “As Silverstone continues on its journey to become a year-round world class business and leisure destination, we have seen a growing number of visitors choosing to arrive by helicopter. Whether attending the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, a corporate event, a track day, or enjoying an overnight stay or lunch at Escapade, we’re confident that ACS will help ensure every arrival at the Silverstone helipad begins in style.”
“In ACS we’ve found a partner who not only shares our passion for providing exceptional service but who has the knowledge and experience to run what is the busiest airspace in Europe over the weekend of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.”
Commenting on the announcement of the new partnership, James Leach, CMO at Air Charter Service, said: “Silverstone has been at the centre of a sport which focuses on nothing but delivering excellence for 75 years. You can feel the absolute focus on continuous improvement when you are there. As an organisation we share that commitment to excellence and want to showcase what we can deliver in terms of customer experience, not just during the British Grand Prix, but throughout the year.
“Silverstone has a huge amount of high-end hospitality to offer, especially with their new Escapade offering and we feel private aviation can help more racing fans experience it. The benefits of private aviation mainly revolve around time saving, with our helicopter shuttles saving many people on average between two hours and five hours, whilst those travelling from abroad by private jet can often save even more time. We believe that whatever private aviation solution clients choose, the experience needs to be exceptional and that is what we intend to deliver.”
