Silverstone weather forecast: Will it rain at the 2026 F1 British Grand Prix?

The Formula 1 British Grand Prix returns to Silverstone from 2-5 July 2026, bringing a packed schedule over four days, featuring Formula 1 as well as F1 Sprint, Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy.

And as always, one of the biggest talking points ahead of the weekend is the Silverstone weather forecast.

The UK’s famously unpredictable weather is amplified by Silverstone's exposed former airfield location, meaning the skies overhead can change rapidly, as fans witnessed in the changeable conditions of the 2025 British Grand Prix where sunshine, cloud cover, wind and rain all played their part in shaping the race.

The good news for fans heading to Silverstone is that current forecasts suggest warm temperatures throughout the weekend. While there is a chance of rain on each day, Saturday currently looks most likely to see wet conditions, so the drivers will need to have their wits about them in the Sprint and in Grand Prix Qualifying.

Will it rain at Silverstone for the 2026 British Grand Prix?

Rain remains a possibility throughout the British Grand Prix weekend, but forecasts point towards Saturday carrying the highest risk of wet weather.

A 48% chance of rain on Saturday morning means teams may need to prepare for changing track conditions during the Sprint. Sunday's forecast currently looks more favourable, with warmer temperatures and only a limited chance of rain earlier in the day.

However, the weather can change quickly in the UK, and Silverstone is no exception, so teams and fans should continue to monitor forecasts as the weekend gets closer.
