Lap of Lights

Currently we are only allowing four wheeled sleighs into the LAP of LIGHTS experience. Unfortunately, any vehicles which do not comply will not be permitted.

In order to enjoy your LAP of LIGHTS experience and to see everything that Santa and the team have prepared for you, the speed limit on track will be a leisurely 5-10mph.

You will complete one lap of the Silverstone circuit. This year’s light show will transport you to some of the world’s most famous locations – strap yourself in for a round-the-world trip!

Don’t worry we have a team of Santa’s Helpers on call who’ll hook you up and deliver you safely off the circuit where you can arrange for third party recovery of your vehicle.

No. Unfortunately, Santa-Paws will not be attending LAP of LIGHTS and we therefore ask that you leave your four-legged friends at home. Entrance will not be permitted with any animals.

At Silverstone, safety is s’no’w joke. Be assured that we have a team of Santa’s Safety Helpers throughout the LAP of LIGHTS experience to ensure everyone’s safety. From speed monitoring to safety sleighs we don’t want to see anyone making it onto to Santa’s naughty list.

We recommend arriving no more than 30 minutes before your time slot. If you do arrive earlier, we may ask you to wait in a holding area until your arranged start time.

You will need to ensure that you have appropriate motor insurance cover in place, as you would for use of your motor vehicle on the road. Throughout the experience the normal rules of the road will apply, meaning that the driver must hold insurance and a full license appropriate to the vehicle they are driving. We recommend that you consult your vehicle insurer should you have any specific concerns.

We ask that all attendees stay within their vehicle whilst on the circuit for the LAP of LIGHTS experience. There will be plenty of time for you to stretch your legs in the Lodge and on the Ice Trak before or after your lap.

Santa and his reindeers have to travel at an average of 5,083,000 mph to reach everyone for Christmas morning. That means it would take him 0.0259 seconds to complete a lap of our circuit! Safe to say your drive will take a little longer!

We estimate that your LAP of LIGHTS Drive will take around 30 minutes to complete.

Please contact our elves on [email protected] who will be able to help you.

Yes, Santa’s Safety Car will direct you throughout the experience.

A trip to LAP of LIGHTS is suitable for all ages, from 0 to 100 plus!!

ICE TRAK

We have a wide range of sizes; from 8 junior up to 15 adult size.

New for 2021 is our immersive skating experience, ICE TRAK. Our world-famous pit lane and garages will be transformed into a frozen wonderland. 45-minute skating sessions can be pre-booked when purchasing your LAP of LIGHTS ticket. Get your skates on – this is going to be popular!

Skating Aids are available for children 1.2m and under. Skate aids will be available for each session, on a first come first serve basis. Please speak with our team at Skate Exchange on arrival, who will be able to help you.

Each skate session is 45 minutes long, please allow at least 20 minutes to get your skates on prior to your session time.

Bags are not permitted onto the Ice, so we advise you only bring essentials with you. We are not responsible for any bags and belongings being left around Silverstone Circuit.

We recommend you book your ICE TRAK ticket 90 minutes before or after your LAP of LIGHTS Drive session. This will leave you plenty of time to return your skates, enjoy our festive food offering and back to your vehicle.

Although most of the ICE TRAK will be positioned in the Garages and on the Pit Lane, we would recommend you dress appropriately for outdoor winter conditions.

Ice Skating is available to book online when you book LAP of LIGHTS. After you’ve chosen how many vehicles you are booking, you will then have the option to add ICE TRAK to your basket. If this option doesn’t show, then unfortunately it means we are fully booked for your selected date.

Children can take part in ice skating from 3 years of age. All children under 12 years of age will need to be accompanied by an adult on the ice. The adult will need to be 16 or older. We recommend a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children maximum.

Yes, skate hire is included in your ticket purchase. You can also bring your own skates if preferred (you will still need to purchase a full price ticket)

Our Facilities

Experience a festive street feast like no other. The Lodge will be home to an array of festive food and drinks, with menus catering to all dietary requirements.

There will be plenty of toilet facilities available across the site, however as you will be in your car for a prolonged duration of time for this event, we would always recommend you make use of toilet facilities before you arrive onsite.

Pick up all your Christmas gifts at our festive shop located in The Lodge.

COVID

There will be a number of hand sanitiser stations located throughout the venue and we encourage you to use them.

Within the public areas we encourage you to observe social distancing where possible.

If you have been instructed to isolate due to COVID-19 and are unable to attend, you can apply to transfer your booking to next year’s event in 2022. You can do this by completing the form here. When requests are processed in the New Year, we will request proof of a positive Covid test.

Alternatively, you can forward your ticket on to family and friends to use.

Please note that if you apply to transfer your booking to next year, but your existing ticket is scanned in for this year’s event, your transfer request will become invalid.

Under 18’s can attend the event without any form of Covid-19 status or testing.

Under the current government guidance, it is not a legal requirement to wear a mask in hospitality venues, but as a venue, we are encouraging you to do so. Face masks should be worn in all retail areas of the event.

You can be assured that we’re well prepared to implement the measures needed to keep our visitors safe this winter.

We remained open throughout December 2020 with our LAP LAND event, resulting in our Covid-Safe Christmas Attraction becoming an award-winner.

Throughout the summer we went on to host a number of public events, including a successful Government pilot event with over 350,000 visitors.

What we’re really trying to say is… we’re top of the nice list when it comes to Covid safety! Our team - and Santa’s Elves - take daily lateral flow tests, wear face masks and use ‘Santa-Tiser’ hand sanitiser – both of which are available throughout the event.

THE LAP

The LAP of LIGHTS drive is designed with minimum contact in mind. You can enjoy it from the comfort and safety of your own car, with our team only requiring a quick ticket check on arrival.

ICE TRAK

Our unique ice-skating experience is a well ventilated, open-air experience. Make sure you wrap up warm though!
