Want to get behind the wheel and see how a range of cars handles first-hand? Test drives are being offered by CUPRA, Ford, Genesis, MG, Nissan, and Polestar. Eligibility criteria applies and this varies per manufacturer but if you’re interested in taking a car out for a test drive, please ensure you bring your driving licence with you to the event. Please also note that in most cases each driver must be over 25 years old, have no more than 6 points on their licence and have held their licence for a minimum of 2 years.
CUPRA is the unconventional challenger brand that brings together emotion, electrification, and performance. Launched in 2018, CUPRA has its corporate headquarters and racing car division in Martorell (Barcelona), in addition to a global network of specialised retailers. The hybrid version of the award-winning CUPRA Formentor, plus the new – and also award-winning – fully electric CUPRA Born will be available for accompanied test drives, which will be bookable on-site over the weekend of The Classic.
The Ford Go Electric Roadshow at Switch has been designed to demystify and answer any questions you might have about switching to electrified cars and vans. Visit them over the weekend to find out more. Test drive either the MACH-E or KUGA over the weekend. Sessions are bookable onsite and operated on a first come first served basis. Ford’s qualifying criteria drivers must be over 30 years old, have held a full driving licence for 5 years or more and have no more than 6 penalty points.

MG is the fastest growing car brand in the UK, fielding a six-car range of practical and affordable hatchbacks, SWs and SUVs. MG is playing a leading role in electric vehicle (EV) technology and is committed to high tech, long-range and great quality EVs with a pricing structure that is accessible to everyone. Over the weekend of The Classic, you’ll be able to test drive models including the MG ZS EV LR and SR, and HS PHEV.
Nissan has recently launched the all-electric, new Nissan ARIYA coupe crossover. Nissan is also working on a comprehensive flagship manufacturing ecosystem, EV36Zero, based in Sunderland, UK – which will bring together vehicle and battery production, powered by renewable energy to set the blueprint for the future of manufacturing mobility. Nissan is offering accompanied test drives with the ARIYA and the LEAF throughout the weekend with bookings possible onsite at the event.
Polestar is an electric performance brand with sustainability at its core. It launched in 2017 with the Polestar 1 – a low-volume performance hybrid GT. Its all-electric performance fastback, Polestar 2, arrived in 2020. An electric performance SUV, Polestar 3, will be unveiled later this year. The Polestar 2 is available to test drive over the weekend of The Classic with 50% of the test drive slots pre-bookable. Click the link in the button above. The myenergi Theatre will host an exciting line-up of guests in session and, in addition to finding out more about myenergi’s eco-smart technology devices that allows users to power their home using renewable energy, at their stand you’ll also be able to play mini golf and test your skills on the Racing Bug simulator!
Electric bike tech is another area seeing huge development and growth. In the heart of Switch Live, there’s the chance to test ride electric bikes from ARCC, Cooler King, and Rayvolt E-bikes in a safe environment and see what makes these bikes so appealing.
The hands-on experiences don’t stop there. With autonomous roaming robots becoming part of life as steps are taken to make faster, cleaner, smarter and more cost-efficient local deliveries in the years to come, we’ll be joined by Starship whose robots will be in action over the weekend.

ARCC Bikes is a British bicycle manufacturer who have designed the Intelligent Drive Pod System, an electric bike retrofit system for the iconic Brompton and Moulton bicycles, as well as their own custom-built Abington and Rosemont bicycles. ARCC electric and non-electric bikes are covered by a 5-year warranty. You can test ride ARCC Bikes over the weekend of The Classic.

Morris Commercial will have their iconic all electric, re-cycled carbon-fibre Morris JE van on display and will also be displaying a splendid 1949 Morris J-Type from their heritage fleet. It will be great to see these two designs side by side… 70 years apart in time but both so quintessentially British and with the new JE planned to become as much a part of the British landscape as the J-Type once was.
The Rayvolt range of e-bikes will showcase their timeless design and smart technology. From the original model – the Cruzer - which was influenced by the first era of motorcycles from early 1900s, to the elegant and aristocratic-influenced Ambassador. Each bike is in a class of its own and offers the perfect e-bike and stylish accessories customised for each individual rider's style.
