Transport

There are plenty of options to choose from when getting to and from the circuit. To get the best prices and availability, it’s important to make your travel arrangements in advance.

Park & ride

We have four different park & ride options available at Sixfields, Turweston, Hinton and Bicester, ranging from 30 to 40-minute journey times to the circuit. This great service drops you off 2 minutes from gate 1 or 19.

Shuttle bus transfers

For those in urban areas, there’s an excellent shuttle bus option running from Milton Keynes, Northampton, Towcester, Banbury, Oxford Parkway, Brackley and Buckingham that range from a 15 to 50-minute journey time. These are also great connecting services for those who’ve taken the train from further afield.

Parking

If you’ve arranged parking for the weekend, you will need to register your car through ‘My Car Pass’, the details for which you should’ve received by email when you booked.

Prepare for all kinds of weather

Unpredictable weather is as common as exhilarating track action at Silverstone, so being a step ahead of the conditions can make the difference to your weekend.

If it’s wet, an umbrella, raincoat or poncho and waterproof footwear are a must, while a hat, sunglasses and sun cream should be packed to combat the sweltering summer sun.

Hydration and Nutrition

A huge selection of food and drink stalls are located around the track, but even so, on hot days fans should bring a refillable water bottle with them. They can then top up at our dedicated water stations around the site.

Tech

Ticket apps, using the camera and navigating around the site can drain a phone’s battery so making sure you set off with a full battery and if possible, taking a portable charger with you is going to ensure you don’t get caught out.

Cashless venue

All concessions at Silverstone, including the megastore only accept card payments. Don’t get caught out!

Prohibited items

Among the prohibited items which will be refused at the gate are:

  • Alcohol
  • Glass bottles or containers
  • Bags over 20L
  • Powered scooters, hoverboards and e-bikes
  • Drones
  • Tents and shelters
  • BBQs
  • Restricted and illegal substances
  • Offensive weapons
  • Fireworks/pyrotechnics/flares
For the full list of prohibited items, see the event checklist.

Code of conduct

At Silverstone, we ask that our spectators treat fellow race goers with kindness and respect, while following direction from staff, security and stewards at all times. This helps everyone to feel welcome and enjoy their British Grand Prix experience to the fullest.

If you have any questions about the event while on site, our dedicated race makers are always around to help put your mind at ease.
