Esteban Ocon to leave Haas F1 Team after 2026 season
30 September 2026Esteban Ocon has confirmed that he will depart the Haas F1 Team once the 2026 Formula 1 season is over. The Frenchman shared the news himself on Wednesday, ending a spell of mounting rumours about where he would be racing in 2027.
Ocon announced his exit in a post on social media ahead of the next race weekend. He did not reveal what his plans are beyond this year.
Esteban Ocon's time at Haas
Ocon moved to Haas from Alpine for the 2025 season, lining up alongside Oliver Bearman, who was then a rookie and is backed by Ferrari. The pair have remained team-mates through 2026.
Ocon has raced in Haas colours in 39 Grands Prix and scored points in 12 of them, but was outscored by Bearman in the 2025 Standings and currently sits behind the British driver in this year’s points.

In his statement, Ocon said his chapter with Haas will close when the season ends. He said he leaves proud of his performances, pointing to circumstances that were not always straightforward, with several factors beyond his control.
Ocon stressed that his attention is fixed on the upcoming race in Malaysia, promising to keep working closely with the team and to keep pushing the car's performance.
He ended by insisting that his drive remains intact, and that he does not see this as the close of his Formula 1 career.
Haas responds to Ocon's announcement
Haas issued its own statement following Ocon's post, featuring comments from Team Principal Ayao Komatsu. Komatsu thanked Ocon for his contribution since arriving in 2025, singling out his professionalism and dedication as valuable while Haas continues to develop as a team.
Who will replace Esteban Ocon at Haas in 2027?
Haas is yet to confirm who will take the seat, but Rafael Camara, who is backed by Ferrari and sits at the top of this year's FIA Formula 2 standings, is regarded as the favourite.
