Antonelli dominates to claim ninth win of 2026
Antonelli made the perfect start from pole position, retaining the lead into Turn 1. The Mercedes driver started on medium tyres, allowing him to extend his opening stint while the Red Bulls and Ferraris behind went for two stops.
Antonelli remained out on track until Lap 24 before making his first and only pit stop of the race. He rejoined fourth, but with the drivers ahead still needing to make their second stops, he was well placed for the latter half of the race.

With those ahead making their final stops, Antonelli retook control of proceedings, eventually crossing the line 13.078 seconds ahead of Leclerc to seal a dominant ninth victory of the season and move within striking distance of the 2026 drivers’ title.
Hamilton takes fourth
Hamilton started fifth but immediately moved into fourth at Turn 1, before challenging Verstappen for third through the esses on the opening lap, but was unable to make a move stick.
The Ferrari driver made his first stop on Lap 14, briefly dropping to sixth before climbing back through the order as his rivals completed their pit stops.
Hamilton eventually found himself third when Verstappen made his final stop, but his own second visit to the pits on Lap 38 dropped him back to sixth. He then set about regaining lost ground, passing Hadjar for fifth, followed by Norris on Lap 51, taking fourth place and securing 12 championship points.
Norris loses out on podium in closing stages
Norris started eighth and gained a position on the opening lap, taking seventh from McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri as the Australian battled Russell. The British driver then made his first and only pit stop on Lap 16, dropping to ninth before gradually working his way back up the order as others pitted.
By the closing stages of the race, the one-stop strategy had elevated Norris to second, but with older tyres and less grip, he was unable to keep the faster cars behind. Both Verstappen and Leclerc swept past on Lap 47, dropping him to fourth, before Hamilton completed another overtake on Lap 51.
Norris crossed the line fifth, collecting 10 points after a difficult weekend for McLaren.
Russell takes eighth after opening-lap penalty
Russell started sixth and found himself defending from Piastri during a frantic opening lap. The Mercedes driver ran off the circuit at Turns 12 and nudged the McLaren off the road to keep him behind, retaining sixth, but earning a five-second time penalty for his actions.
Russell adopted a longer opening stint than most of the other front runners, climbing as high as third by Lap 18 while those around him had already made their first stops.
He eventually pitted on Lap 22, serving his five-second penalty before rejoining the race in tenth. The British driver recovered to eighth by Lap 30 but was unable to make further progress, ultimately finishing in that position and collecting four championship points.
Lindblad finishes 12th as Bearman retires
Arvid Lindblad started 14th for Racing Bulls and made early progress, moving into 13th during the opening laps. The British rookie made his pit stop on Lap 18, falling to 15th before beginning another recovery through the field.
Lindblad eventually climbed back to 12th, where he remained until the chequered flag, narrowly missing out on another points finish.
Starting 13th, Oliver Bearman gained two positions in the opening laps but made contact with Pierre Gasly while battling for position. Bearman made his first pit stop on Lap 13 and returned to the pits on Lap 22, dropping to 18th as his race unravelled.
The damage sustained during the earlier collision ultimately proved to be too much, forcing Bearman to retire after 24 laps.
