Audi Powers Silverstone with Sustainable Transport at the British Grand Prix

Silverstone and Audi joined forces at this year’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix to deliver a more sustainable event experience by introducing a dedicated fleet of electric vehicles to transport key personnel, VIPs, and guests around the venue.

A host of fully electric Audi vehicles, including the premium models such as the Audi A6 Avant S line e-tron and Audi Q6 Sportback S line e-tron, were deployed across the weekend to provide efficient, low-emission shuttle services throughout the circuit.

This initiative forms part of Silverstone’s ongoing Shift to Zero strategy, a bold commitment to reduce the venue’s environmental impact and move away from high-emission, fossil-fuel-based transportation.

“Partnering with Audi to deliver an all-electric fleet at one of the world's most iconic sporting events is a powerful statement of intent,” said Stuart Pringle, Silverstone’s Chief Executive Officer, “We are committed to driving innovation both on and off the track, and Audi’s support is instrumental in helping us move closer to a lower carbon future.”

Gavin Ward, Audi UK Head of PR and Communications, said: “We were delighted to partner with the home of UK motorsport and provide them with premium mobility over the British Grand Prix. Silverstone’s long-term sustainability goals are aligned to Audi’s and we are in the middle of our most ambitious new model initiative, as the brand renews its entire model portfolio with a fleet of new battery electric as well as internal combustion vehicles. Electric vehicles accounted for 20 percent of all sales last year and by 2027 Audi plans to have a battery electric vehicle in every core segment of its model portfolio.”

The collaboration with Audi underscores Silverstone’s broader ambition to lead sustainability within motorsport, aligning innovation, performance, and environmental responsibility.
