The Classic welcomes Genesis Motors

A significant new chapter of automotive history will be written at The Classic later this month with the exciting arrival of new luxury brand Genesis to European audiences.

Marking this major milestone, Genesis will be showcasing its stylish G70 and G80 saloon and GV70 and GV80 SUV models to the motoring enthusiasts attending the world’s biggest celebration of classic motor sport for the very first time.

Visitors to The Classic (30 July – 1 August) will not only be able to view the Genesis cars on display in the centre of the prestigious International Paddock but will also have the unique opportunity to take exclusive test drives.

Genesis has been offering its highly-desirable range of luxury cars to customers in South Korea, North America, the Middle East, Russia, China and Australia – and now, Europe. Orders for the G80 and GV80 – specially tuned for European roads – will open to UK motorists this summer. The G70 saloon and GV70 SUV following soon after. Genesis has also announced the arrival of an electrified G80 towards the end of 2021, with two further electric models to follow.

The vehicles have undergone rigorous testing on some of Europe’s most challenging roads, including the legendary Nürburgring circuit, and visitors to The Classic will be able to evaluate the results of this intensive technical programme for themselves on the local roads around Silverstone.

“With its unrivalled retro racing grids and massive car club displays, The Classic celebrates history like no other event on Earth, so we are delighted to be partnering with Genesis Motors and making yet more history,” said Nick Wigley, CEO of The Classic’s promoter Goose Live Events. “I have no doubt the arrival of Genesis in Europe will become a hugely significant event on the motoring timeline and all those coming to Silverstone will now be part of this momentous occasion.”

“The Classic allows us to present Genesis to those passionate about cars past, present and future,” said Andrew Pilkington, managing director at Genesis Motor UK.  “Most excitingly, The Classic will be the very first event in the UK where we will offer test drives, marking a significant milestone for us at Genesis Motor UK.”

As well as celebrating the arrival of Genesis, The Classic will also be acclaiming a host of other milestones in motoring history, including its very own 30th birthday postponed from last summer. Highlights include special races, displays and track parades to mark 60 years of the E-type Jaguar and Mini Cooper, 50 years of the Triumph Stag and 40 years of DMC DeLorean.

All those wanting to join the celebrations must purchase their tickets in advance. The price of adult general admission starts at £47 and a three-day weekend ticket is on offer at just £125. Free admission is offered to accompanied children aged 10 and under, while day tickets for those aged between 11 and 15 are priced from just £6.
