What can/can’t I bring to the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix?
10 June 2025The countdown is on for the 2025 Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone and to help you make the most of your visit, we’ve put together a handy guide on what you can and can’t bring into the venue this year to help you breeze through the entry gates.
From essentials you won’t want to forget, to a few items that are best left at home, here’s everything you need to know.
What can’t I bring to the British Grand Prix?
While we want you to feel as comfortable and prepared as possible at the 2025 British Grand Prix, there are a few important restrictions in place to help keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone. Here's a breakdown of what’s not allowed inside the circuit:
Alcohol
To maintain a safe and family-friendly environment, alcohol is not permitted to be brought into the venue. But don’t worry, there’s a fantastic range of food and drink stalls on site.
Glass bottles or containers
Please leave any glass items at home. If broken, these can pose a safety risk in crowded areas.
Bags over 20L
Travelling light is key. Large bags (over 20 litres) will not be permitted into the circuit, so opt for a smaller day backpack to carry your essentials. Bag checks will be in operation at all entrances to the track.
Powered scooters, hoverboards and e-bikes
These items are not allowed on site. For everyone’s safety, the use of powered personal transport is restricted within the circuit grounds.
Drones
Capturing the action from above might sound tempting, but the use of private drones are strictly prohibited. This is for the safety of spectators, teams and drivers.
Tents and shelters
While we encourage you to come prepared for all weather, tents, gazebos and large shelters are not permitted. Space is limited and we want everyone to have a clear view of the circuit.
What should I bring?
Here’s what we recommend packing to make the most of your British Grand Prix weekend:
Your ticket – via the Silverstone Tickets app
Entry to the event is now fully digital, so make sure you’ve downloaded the Silverstone Tickets app ahead of time and have your tickets ready to scan at the gate.

Prepare for all weathers
From blazing sunshine to sudden downpours, Silverstone weather keeps everyone on their toes. Be sure to pack:
- A raincoat or poncho
- Suncream and a hat
- An umbrella
Comfortable shoes
You’ll be covering plenty of ground around the circuit, so supportive, comfortable footwear is a must.
Team kit
Whether you're backing McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari or any other team, show your colours!
Reusable water bottle
Stay hydrated throughout the day with your own refillable water bottle. We’ve got dedicated refill stations located around the circuit.
Portable phone charger
Between snapping photos, using the event apps and checking race times, your phone battery will drain quickly. A portable charger is a great way to stay powered up on the go.
Plan Ahead for a Smooth Weekend
Preparing what to bring – and what to leave behind – means you can focus on the thrill of Formula 1 action at Silverstone. With a little planning, you’ll be race-day ready in no time.
