These terms and conditions relate to the RetroRun Package at The Classic (the Event) and must be observed in conjunction with the General Terms & Conditions.
1. RETRORUN PACKAGE
1.1. The RetroRun is organised by Chantry Communications and Automotive Services on behalf of Goose Live Events Limited (GLE – the promoter of the Event) and Silverstone Circuits (SCL). The road run element of the package is a Touring Assembly for which a Certificate of Exemption is issued by Motorsport UK to Classic Racing Club UK (a related company to GLE).
1.2. By booking the RetroRun package, the purchaser agrees to their booking details being shared with Chantry Communications and Automotive Services in order that the RetroRun logistics may be facilitated.
1.3. A RetroRun Package includes TWO general admission tickets and ONE Infield Vehicle Display Pass for the allocated display area.
1.4. A RetroRun Package is only available to those that will be displaying a pre 2001 car or car of special interest in the designated display area at the Event.
1.5. Cars taking part in the RetroRun must be suitable and roadworthy for the Event and the driver must hold a current and valid road licence. The use of the vehicle entered must be covered by a motor insurance policy as required by the law which is valid for such part of this Event as shall take place on public roads as defined by the law.
1.6. There is no extra booking fee on top of the RetroRun Package price, but a transaction fee will be applicable per order (not per Package).
1.7. RetroRun Packages may only be available until 31 May to enable us time to plan the infield.
1.8. The RetroRun Packages are subject to availability and may sell out prior to 31 May. To avoid disappointment, please book early.
1.9. An add-on option is available for the RetroRun package but you must ensure that you have a valid general admission ticket for the relevant day(s) of the event. For example:
- If you have a Friday ticket and buy a RetroRun Add-on, you can join the RetroRun infield display area on Friday and take part in Saturday’s RetroRun road route but you won’t have access to The Classic on Saturday or Sunday (unless you buy general admission tickets for these days).
- If you have a Saturday ticket and buy a RetroRun Add-on, you can join the RetroRun infield display area on Saturday and take part in the RetroRun road route that day but you won’t have access to The Classic on Friday or Sunday (unless you buy general admission tickets for these days).
- If you have a Sunday ticket and buy a RetroRun Add-on, you can join the RetroRun infield display area and track parade on Sunday and take part in Saturday’s RetroRun road route but you won’t have access to The Classic on Friday or Saturday (unless you buy general admission tickets for these days).
2. INFIELD VEHICLE DISPLAY PASS
2.1. The Infield Vehicle Display Pass is issued as part of the RetroRun Package only. An Infield Vehicle Display Pass cannot be purchased separately.
2.2. The Infield Vehicle Display Pass is only issued to cars eligible for the RetroRun Package i.e. a pre 2001 car or a car deemed to be of special interest (at the discretion of the Event organiser).
2.3. The Infield Vehicle Display Pass is only valid for parking within the designated display area.
2.4. When purchasing a RetroRun Package, the make, model, year, colour and registration number of the vehicle to be displayed at the Event must be provided. An Infield Vehicle Display Pass will display this information and will only be valid for the vehicle that has been registered.
2.5. An Infield Vehicle Display Pass is issued at the Event organiser’s discretion and may not be issued if the vehicle registered is not eligible for the package. In this instance you will be required to park in the public parking outside the circuit.
2.6. If you need to change your vehicle details AFTER purchasing a RetroRun Package AND the vehicle model is still eligible for the package, you will need to:
- Until 31 May complete the online vehicle registration change form
- From 1 June email the Event Organiser – [email protected]
2.7. If you need to change your vehicle details AFTER purchasing a RetroRun Package AND the vehicle model is NOT eligible for the package, you will be required to park in the public parking outside the circuit.
2.8. If you have NOT notified the Event organiser of a vehicle change and arrive at the Event in a vehicle different from the one listed on the Infield Vehicle Display Pass, or the car model is not eligible for the package, you will be required to park in the public parking outside the circuit.

3.3. Overnight – sleeping in tents or vehicles
- 3.4.1. Generators
- 3.5.1. Caravans and motorhomes
- 3.5.2. Vans and trailers
4. VEHICLE MOVEMENT
4.1. Given the large public spectator levels at the Event, there is to be no car display vehicle movement on the infield between 10:00 and 17:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, to ensure that you gain access to the designated display area, we request that you arrive before 10:00 and do not leave before 17:00, otherwise you may be required to park in the public car park. The only exception to this is when arriving to the circuit having completed your RetroRun road routs on Saturday, and to move to the parade assembly area on Sunday (you will receive written instructions regarding signing on, track assembly area, timings, etc. prior to the Event).
4.2. Any vehicle parked outside of the designated display area is liable to be towed to the public car parks. Silverstone Circuit is private property and the Event organiser reserves the right to tow any vehicle that is parked where it shouldn’t be.
4.3. Should a vehicle be found driving around during 10:00-17:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday it may be ejected from the Event.
4.4. There will be no entry (or re-entry) for car club VEHICLES with an infield vehicle pass after 17:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
4.5. Cars may be left in the infield overnight at the owners risk IF a valid ticket to the Event is held for the following day. No vehicles are allowed to remain overnight on Sunday. All cars must vacate the circuit at the end of the Event.
5. INCLEMENT WEATHER
5.1. Infield display space cannot be guaranteed and is subject to weather and ground conditions. Display Areas are therefore subject to change and, in extenuating circumstances, may result in parking in public car parks.
6.1. Cars taking part in a celebration parade must be suitable and roadworthy for the Event and the driver must hold a current and valid road licence. The use of the vehicle registered must be covered by a motor insurance policy as required by the law.
6.2. Passengers are allowed to take part in parades but the number of people in any car must not exceed the number of seats fitted to the car and all must be in possession of an Event ticket. All passengers must be seated in the seats provided and safety belts must be used. Passengers under 18 must have the signed approval of their parent or guardian to participate in a track parade. Passengers in Touring Cars, or Cabriolet/Sports Cars with the hood erected or hardtop fitted, must be 12 years or over and be at least 135cm in height. Passengers in Cabriolet/Sports Cars without the hood erected or hardtop fitted must be aged 16 years or over and be at least 135cm in height. No child under 12 years is allowed to be a passenger.
6.3. Standard motor insurance policies are likely to exclude driving on a motor racing circuit. It is mandatory for all drivers (and their passengers) taking part in the track parade to sign-on agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless each of or any combination of Motorsport UK and its associated clubs, the organisers, the track owners or other occupiers, the promoters and their respective officers, servants, representatives and agents in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever arising from the driver’s participation in this Event. All participants in a parade must sign the Event’s disclaimer form which, when signed and presented to a member of the Event team in the display area prior to the track parade, will be exchanged for a wristband(s) allowing the driver and if applicable passenger(s) to take part in the parade. All people who have signed-on must be present when wristbands are issued and affixed to the person’s wrist. Anyone without the issued wristband will not be permitted to take part in the track parade.
6.4. If participating in a parade lap at the Event, please note there will be some holding time prior to a parade when participating vehicles may need to be in parade assembly areas. There may also be some holding time after a track parade whilst we return vehicles to their respective display areas. The exact timings of these will depend on the size of the parade.
6.5. The parade lap will be one full lap of the grand prix circuit at slow speed. If accessing the circuit from the pit lane then the lap will be slightly less than one full lap as you will enter the circuit from the pit lane exit and leave the circuit at the pit lane entry point.
6.6. When on track, cars should take up formation 2-abreast. Cars must not overtake other parade cars or the Course Cars, unless directed to do so by the Course Car driver. Drivers must keep to the speed set by the Course Cars, expected to be in the region of up to 40 mph. There must be no holding back, no hard acceleration and no hard braking. Such driving standards will not be tolerated by the Event organiser.
6.7. Full written instructions for the parade lap including signing-on and track assembly area details and timings will be sent prior to the Event.
6.8. Track parades cannot be guaranteed and are subject to weather and the racing schedule. Track parades are therefore subject to change and, in extenuating circumstances, may be cancelled.
