RetroRun
Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions relate to the RetroRun Package at Silverstone Festival (the Event) and must be observed in conjunction with Silverstone Festival Terms & Conditions.

Silverstone Festival is a Silverstone event organised in collaboration with Goose Live Events Limited (GLE). GLE is responsible for the organisation of Silverstone Festival on behalf of Silverstone Circuits Limited (SCL). The term ‘Event Organiser’ when used within this document means ‘GLE’ and ‘SCL’.

1. RETRORUN PACKAGE

1.1. The RetroRun is organised by Nigel Bambridge and Dermot Bambridge on behalf of Goose Live Events Limited (GLE – the promoter of the Event) and Silverstone Circuits (SCL). The road run element of the package is a Touring Assembly for which a Certificate of Exemption is issued by Motorsport UK to Classic Racing Club UK (a related company to GLE).

1.2. By booking the RetroRun Package, the purchaser agrees to their booking details being shared with Nigel Bambridge and Dermot Bambridge in order that the RetroRun logistics may be facilitated.

1.3. A RetroRun Package includes TWO general admission tickets and ONE Vehicle Display Pass for the allocated display area.

1.4. A RetroRun Package is only available to those that will be displaying a pre 2004 car or car of special interest (at the discretion of the Event Organiser) in the designated display area at the Event.

1.5. Cars taking part in the RetroRun must be suitable and roadworthy for the Event and the driver must hold a current and valid full driving licence. The use of the vehicle entered must be covered by a motor insurance policy as required by the law which is valid for the part of this Event that shall take place on public roads as defined by the law.

1.6. There is no extra booking or transaction fee on top of the RetroRun Package price.

1.7. RetroRun Packages may only be available until Sunday 30 June 2024 to enable us time to plan the display area.

1.8. RetroRun Packages are subject to availability and may sell out prior to Sunday 30 June 2024. To avoid disappointment, please book early.

1.9.  In addition to the full RetroRun package, an add-on option is available when purchasing general admission tickets, but you must ensure that you have a valid general admission ticket for the relevant day(s) of the event. For example:

  • If you have a Friday ticket and buy a RetroRun Add-on, you can join the RetroRun display area on Friday and take part in Saturday’s RetroRun road route. Please note, this doesn't authorise you access to Silverstone Festival on Saturday and Sunday.
  • If you have a Saturday ticket and buy a RetroRun Add-on, you can join the RetroRun display area on Saturday and take part in the RetroRun road route. Please note, this doesn't authorise you access to Silverstone Festival on Friday and Sunday.
  • If you have a Sunday ticket and buy a RetroRun Add-on, you can join the RetroRun display area and track parade on Sunday and take part in Saturday’s RetroRun road route. Please note, this doesn't authorise you access to the Silverstone Festival on Friday and Saturday.

2. VEHICLE DISPLAY PASS

2.1. The Vehicle Display Pass is issued as part of the RetroRun Package only. A Vehicle Display Pass cannot be purchased separately.

2.2. The Vehicle Display Pass is only issued to cars eligible for the RetroRun Package i.e. a pre 2004 car or a car deemed to be of special interest (at the discretion of the Event Organiser).

2.3. The Vehicle Display Pass is only valid for parking within the designated display area.

 4. VEHICLE MOVEMENT

4.1. Given the large public spectator levels at the Event, there is to be no display vehicle movement between 09:00 and 17:30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, to ensure that you gain access to the designated display area, you must arrive before 09:00 and not leave before 17:30, otherwise you may be required to park in the public car park. The only exception to this is when arriving to the circuit having completed your RetroRun road routes on Saturday, and to move to the parade assembly area on Sunday (you will receive written instructions regarding signing on, track assembly area, timings, etc. prior to the Event).

4.2. Any vehicle parked outside of the designated display area is liable to be towed to the public car parks. Silverstone Circuit is private property, and the Event Organiser reserves the right to tow any vehicle that is parked where it shouldn’t be. Any vehicles towed, are towed at the liability and cost of the owner. SCL are not liable for any damage caused during this process.

4.3. Any vehicle found moving around the Event site during 09:00-17:30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday may be ejected from the Event and re-entry for the vehicle and driver may be denied.

4.4. There will be no entry (or re-entry) for vehicles with a Vehicle Display Pass after 17:30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

4.5. Vehicles can be left overnight in the display area, but they must have a valid Vehicle Display Pass for the following day. No vehicles can be left in the display area overnight on the Sunday. Vehicles are left at the vehicle owner's risk. All cars must vacate the circuit at the end of the Event on Sunday.

4.6. The Event Organisers reserves the right to change the venue, routes and stopping points if circumstances beyond their control prevent them from using the advertised routes and venues.

5. INCLEMENT WEATHER

5.1. Display space cannot be guaranteed and is subject to weather and ground conditions. Display areas are therefore subject to change and, in extenuating circumstances, may result in parking in public car parks.

6. PARADES

6.1. Cars taking part in a celebration parade must be suitable and roadworthy for the Event and the driver must hold a current and valid full driving licence (provisional licence is not permitted). The use of the vehicle registered must be covered by a motor insurance policy as required by the law.

6.2. Passengers are allowed to take part in parades but the number of people in any car must not exceed the number of seats fitted to the car and all must be in possession of an Event ticket. All passengers must be seated in the seats provided and safety belts must be used. Passengers under 18 must have the signed approval of their parent or guardian to participate in a track parade. Passengers in Touring Cars, or Cabriolet/Sports Cars with the hood erected or hardtop fitted, must be 12 years or over and be at least 135cm in height. Passengers in Cabriolet/Sports Cars without the hood erected or hardtop fitted must be aged 16 years or over and be at least 135cm in height. No child under 12 years is allowed to be a passenger. This is subject to change at the discretion of Motorsport UK.

6.3. Standard motor insurance policies are likely to exclude driving on a motor racing circuit. It is mandatory for all drivers (and their passengers) taking part in the track parade to sign-on agreeing to indemnify and hold harmless each of or any combination of Motorsport UK and its associated clubs, the organisers, the track owners or other occupiers, the promoters and their respective officers, servants, representatives and agents in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever and howsoever arising from the driver’s participation in this Event. All participants in a parade must sign the Event’s disclaimer form which, when signed and presented to a member of the Event team in the display area prior to the track parade, will be exchanged for a wristband(s) allowing the driver and if applicable passenger(s) to take part in the parade. All people who have signed-on must be present when wristbands are issued and affixed to the person’s wrist. Anyone without the issued wristband will not be permitted to take part in the track parade.

6.4. If participating in a parade lap at the Event, there will be holding time prior to a parade, where participating vehicles may need to be in parade assembly areas. There may also be holding time after a track parade whilst vehicles return to their respective display areas. The exact timings of these will depend on the size of the parade and will be confirmed closer to the Event.

6.5. The parade lap will be one full lap of the Grand Prix circuit at slow speed. If accessing the circuit from the pit lane then the lap will be slightly less than one full lap as you will enter the circuit from the pit lane exit and leave the circuit at the pit lane entry point.

6.6. When on track, cars should take up formation 2-abreast. Cars must not overtake other parade cars or the Course Cars, unless directed to do so by the Course Car driver. Drivers must keep to the speed set by the Course Cars. There must be no holding back, no hard acceleration and no hard braking. Such driving standards will not be tolerated by the Event Organiser and may result in exclusion from participation in track parades at the Event in future.

6.7. Full written instructions for the parade lap including signing-on and track assembly area details and timings will be sent prior to the Event.

6.8. Track parades cannot be guaranteed and are subject to weather and the racing schedule. Track parades are therefore subject to change and, in extenuating circumstances, may be cancelled. No refund for the RetroRun Package will be available in such an event.
