BRITISH POINTS. BRITISH ROOTS.
Silverstone's tree planting initiative fuelled by our British drivers' performance
1 POINT = 1 TREE
Every point scored by a British driver this Formula One season puts a tree in the ground. That's the deal. Lando, George, Lewis, Oliver and Arvid race, and for every point they earn, Silverstone plants a tree. We'll be keeping fans updated throughout the season, dropping summaries after every few races so you can follow exactly how the tally is growing. We're making it happen in partnership with iNREACH and treeapp, channelling the excitement of a great season into something that lasts a lot longer than a podium celebration.
How It Works
01
Drivers Score Points
Every British driver can earn points across all 24 rounds of the 2026 F1 World Championship — from the season opener right through to Abu Dhabi.
02
Each Point = One Tree
For every championship point scored, Silverstone commits to planting one tree — in partnership with iNREACH and Treeapp, up to a cap of 1,000 trees.
03
Trees Planted Locally
Every tree is planted right here in Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire — close to the circuit, creating lasting green roots in the communities around Silverstone.
What's going in the ground
We're planting native trees and shrubs: Oak, Wild Cherry, Sweet Chestnut, Crab Apple, Blackthorn — alongside Miyawaki micro-forests, a method of creating dense, fast-establishing woodland that becomes a biodiversity hotspot in a short space of time. The faster our drivers score, the more we plant.
More Than
Just Planting
We're not just planting and walking away. Every tree will be monitored and measured over the years, tracking carbon absorption and overall health so we can see and share the real impact this campaign is having.
Based on last season's performance, when our British drivers racked up 939 points between them, we're projecting around 1,000 trees this year. With 24 races on the calendar and the addition of Arvid Lindblad to the mix, there's plenty of opportunity to reach that higher number.
Tree planting season kicks off in November, when ground and weather conditions give new trees the best chance of survival. That timing works perfectly. By the time the season wraps up in December, we'll know exactly how many trees our drivers have earned us.

Why We're Doing This
Racing towards a greener future
Silverstone is the home of British motorsport — and that comes with a responsibility to protect the landscape and communities that surround us. As part of our broader Shift to Zero sustainability strategy, we're committed to finding meaningful, lasting ways to give back to the natural environment.
British Points. British Roots. connects what happens on the track directly to the world outside it.
We're proud to partner with iNREACH and Treeapp to ensure every tree is planted thoughtfully, monitored rigorously, and reported transparently.
