Q1 snapshot
With the Kick Sauber mechanics having finished their post-practice repairs, Gabriel Bortoleto was the first to set a time in Q1, but the Brazilian’s time was quickly bettered by Stroll, the Alpines and Alex Albon.
Max Verstappen was the first of the pole position hopefuls to throw down a gauntlet of a 1:26.041. He was followed by Lando, whose lap was a tenth down on the Dutchman.
Oscar Piastri then went fastest by almost four hundredths, as Fernando Alonso slotted into third a tenth behind. The two Ferraris, meanwhile, were languishing down in sixth and ninth.
Alpine’s Colapinto spun into the gravel on the exit of Club bringing out a red flag and the rain that had so far failed to have an impact began to fall heavier in the intermission.
Despite the damp track, with three minutes to go, the times started to tumble. Albon slotted into third, while Verstappen went a tenth clear of Piastri at the top of the table and Bearman jumped up to third in the Haas.
Verstappen ended the session fastest from Piastri, Bearman, Albon and Alonso. There were nervy moments at Ferrari as Hamilton came dangerously close to being knocked out of Q1 in 14th.
Lawson, Bortoleto, Stroll, Hulkenberg and Colapinto all failed to make it through the next part of Qualifying.

Once again, Verstappen was eager to get a lap in and set an impressive benchmark, which Piastri then equalled exactly, slotting into second on the timesheets.
Alonso snatched the third fastest time followed by the Williams duo of Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon.
Not long after, Norris then jumped to the top just under a tenth faster than Verstappen and Piastri.
During the second runs, Lewis went purple in the first sector before going fastest of all with team-mate Leclerc taking second just behind him. In the final moments of the session, Antonelli got himself out of the bottom five with his final attempt.
Hamilton finished the session fastest from Leclerc, Norris, Verstappen and Piastri, while Sainz, Tsonoda, Hadjar, Albon and Ocon didn’t progress through to the final part of qualifying.
Q3 snapshot
Bearman set the first lap of Q3, which was instantly bettered by Verstappen, then Piastri jumped to the top spot while Norris slotted into second, who was quickly relegated by Hamilton, who provisionally seized a front-row grid slot.
For the final runs, Norris was the first to set his lap and after matching team-mate Piastri in the first two sectors, the home favourite came within two hundredths of his team-mate, but not close enough for pole.
Meanwhile, Hamilton was on a charge, going purple in the first sector, but his effort was only good enough for fifth behind a stellar lap from Russell.
That left Verstappen to set two purple sectors and steal a shock pole by just over a tenth with a sensational lap. Piastri was second followed by Norris, Russell and Hamilton.

Sprint Race snapshot
FIA Formula 2 home favourites Arvid Lindblad and Luke Browning started the Sprint Race 11th and 12th respectively, while points leader Richard Verschoor started fourth, Leonardo Fornaroli was on pole and Kush Maini in second.
It was a good start for Maini, who seized the lead into Turn 1, but Fornaroli astutely cut underneath his rival at Woodcote to retake the lead.
Verschoor got away poorly and fell to 10th. Conversely, the British drivers of Lindblad and Browning vaulted up to eighth and ninth respectively.
On Lap 7, Browning got past Lindblad and set about chasing down Victor Martins and the leading pack, setting the fastest lap in the process.
The following lap, Alex Dunne and Gabrielle Mini made contact, resulting in a puncture for Dunne and wing damage for Mini.
On Lap 15 into Stowe, Montoya made the move on Maini for second place, by which point Fornaroli had an almost two-second advantage.
Stanek pressured Maini lap after lap, as a frenetic nine-car battle for the final podium spot unfolded. On the penultimate lap, Stanek finally went around the outside of Maini at Stowe to secure third.
On the final tour, Browning and Martins clashed at Lufield with the Brit eventually picking up seventh place.
Fornaroli took his first race victory since the 2021 F4 season from Montoya and Stanek – who made it a double podium at Invicta Racing’s home event – then Maini and Joshua Durksen rounded out the top five.

Sprint Race snapshot
Championship leader Rafael Câmara started the 18-lap FIA Formula 3 Sprint Race from 10th on the grid while Christian Ho and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak occupied the front row of the reverse grid.
It was a good start for Inthraphuvasak and Ho, who got away cleanly remaining in 1-2 formation.
Nikola Tsolov – who was third in the points at the start of the race – got caught up in the first lap melee and dropped from 12th to 29th, while Théophile Naël snatched second from Ho with a superb move around the outside of Brooklands.
Trident team-mates Câmara and Charlie Wurz went side by side all the way from Maggotts to Vale at the end of Lap 1, with the Austrian coming out on top before a Virtual Safety Car, and then a full Safety Car was deployed to recover debris.
At the restart, Martinius Stenshorne dove to the inside of Ho, while further back, Câmara finally got the better of Wurz at Brooklands.
At the head of the pack, Naël and Inthraphuvasak went into battle for the lead and although the French driver led for a time, his challenge began to fade, with Inthraphuvasak retaking the lead.
In the closing laps, Mari Boya relegated Ho further into sixth place and Stenshorne moved past Naël into Vale.
On the penultimate tour, Boya, Naël and Laurens van Hoepen went into battle over the final podium spot and while Naël and van Hoepen focused on each other into Club, Boya sliced underneath the pair of them in a ‘through goes Hamilton’-esque move to secure the final spot on the rostrum.
Inthraphuvasak eventually took the first win for a Thai driver in the series since Alex Albon in 2016, with Stenshorne and Boya completing the podium.
Naël came home in fourth ahead of Van Hoopen to round out the top five while points leader Câmara finished ninth.
