Adding an extra spark to this summer’s eagerly anticipated Silverstone Festival (22–24 August), the renowned RML Group’s sensational new P39 hypercar will perform official Safety Car duties at this year’s event.

Based on the formidable Porsche 992.1 Turbo S platform, the incredible P39 blends daily usability with uncompromising track performance – ideal credentials for a Silverstone Safety Car.

Created to celebrate RML Group’s 40th anniversary, the innovative P39 showcases the company’s engineering expertise across multiple domains. Its bodywork has been entirely resculpted in carbon fibre and enhanced with active aerodynamic elements that increase downforce and reduce drag – maximising grip and boosting speed as needed.

Drivers can adjust between three cockpit-configurable chassis settings, specially developed to exploit the P39’s advanced aerodynamic traction. The twin-turbo flat-six engine has been extensively re-engineered to offer three power modes – 920hp, 750hp, and 600hp – optimised for both road and track conditions.

Only 39 of these remarkable P39s will be produced, and Silverstone Festival visitors will be among the first to witness this exhilarating hypercar in action.

Festival-goers will also enjoy a striking display of competition cars in the International Paddock, celebrating RML’s 40-year legacy in motorsport. The company has achieved major successes in both international touring car and sportscar racing, running factory-supported teams for leading manufacturers such as Vauxhall, Nissan, SEAT, and Chevrolet.

Adding further heritage flair, company founder Ray Mallock will compete in two Formula Junior races. Honouring a racing legacy that spans generations, he will drive a legendary front-engined U2 club racer first introduced in the late 1950s by his father, Major Arthur Mallock.

Keeping it in the family, Ray’s son Michael – now a Board Member at RML responsible for the Bespoke Division – expressed excitement about showcasing both RML’s history and the P39 at their home circuit.

“P39 is the realisation of what 40 years of RML engineering expertise can achieve,” said Michael Mallock. “It’s hard to imagine a more iconic or capable Safety Car for Silverstone. We’ve created a hypercar that not only looks the part but delivers savage track performance or serene road driving at the push of a button.”

With 20 top-tier historic motorsport races taking place on Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit over the weekend, spectators will have ample opportunity to see the P39’s performance capabilities in action.

“We’re delighted to welcome the RML Group back to this year’s Silverstone Festival – especially as it’s offering one of the first public showings of the phenomenal P39,” said Event Director Nick Wigley. “With its incredible track record, RML’s return, and the P39 as our official Safety Car, promises to be a major highlight for hypercar fans.”

Visitors to the International Paddock will also enjoy a dazzling showcase of the latest high-performance models presented by Supercar Driver, the UK’s leading club for supercar owners.

Another major attraction will be the World Champions Collection – a one-of-a-kind exhibition featuring F1 cars raced by all 34 Formula 1 World Champions, marking the 75th anniversary of the F1 World Championship which began at Silverstone in 1950.

All Silverstone Festival tickets provide access to both racing paddocks, open trackside grandstands, and loads of family-friendly activities. These include live evening concerts headlined by Natasha Bedingfield, Craig David presents TS5, and Ministry of Sound Classical, as well as traditional fairground rides, stunt shows, and Bank Holiday entertainment for all ages. Children aged 15 and under, when accompanied by an adult, can attend for free.
