Overview – The Historic Sports Car Club

Advance ticket sales have now closed and tickets are now only available for purchase at the gates at On The Day prices. There is no ticket collection for this event, so all tickets will be posted. 

This action packed weekend draws the Historic Sports Car Club Season to a close, where over recent years Championships have been won or lost. All of the HSCC Championships will be taking part. There are races for Historic Road Sports of the 1950s – 1960s, and the later 70s Roadsports cars, there will be a pit stop endurance race for the GT and Sports Racing Cars of the Guards Trophy. There will also be a double header race for the Pre’66 Historic Touring cars, where, Minis, Anglias and Cortinas, take on the American muscle of Ford Falcon and Mustang.  Formula Junior and Formula Ford will vie for the closest finish of the day with their slip streaming battles. Historic and Classic Formula 3 will be racing, along with Classic Racing Cars, Formula Ford 2000, Classic Clubmans. Heading up the meeting will be the Formula 5000 and Formula 2 mixed grid of the Derek Bell Trophy.

This event features the final races of 2018 for some of the HSCC Championships and Series for post-war racing cars from the 1950s – 1980s. With qualifying and racing now taking place over two days, this quick-fire event is excitement all the way.

This event has been held at Silverstone for over a decade.

Advance ticket sales have now closed and tickets are now only available for purchase at the gates at On The Day prices. There is no ticket collection for this event, so all tickets will be posted.

Main Race Details

The highlight of the event is the Derek Bell Trophy Race, which caters for single seater racing cars of the 1970s to mid 1980s. This series is very like the Formula Libre races of the period with classes for, Formula 5000 and Formula 2 cars.

The programme consists of Final Championship rounds for Historic and 70s Roadsports, Formula Ford 2000, Classic Formula 3, Historic Formula Ford, Guards Trophy, Historic Touring Cars, and Historic Formula Junior.

    There is a cash machine located in the Pit Stop Cafe. Please note that this machine charges for cash withdrawals.

  • Which credit/debit cards do you accept?

    We accept most major credit and debit cards with the exception of American Express and Diners Club cards.

  • Can you purchase Silverstone merchandise at the event?

    Yes, Silverstone shops sell a variety of merchandise! The Paddock Shop will be open during the weekend. Alternatively buy online in advance to avoid disappointment!

  • Can you purchase suncream/ batteries/ plasters/ cameras and medicines etc onsite?

    No, there is a shop in Silverstone village, and the onsite medical centre hold all emergency medical supplies.

  • Can I use my pushbike around the circuit?

    Bikes can sometimes be used at the circuit though they are not advised at the larger events as the circuit is too busy


    Yes this is possible – please ensure that the staff at the gate stamp your hand as you leave the circuit. Re entry to the site will only be permitted if the person has their hand stamped and is in possession of a valid ticket for the event. Please review the timetable to check last re-entry times each day.

  • Can i take photos?

    Photographic equipment, mobile telephones and other private communication devices are permitted within the venue provided that they are for personal and private non commercial purposes.

  • when will my tickets be despatched?

    Ticket despatch starts four to six weeks prior to the event but tickets may be sent out up to a week before the event.

  • I have not received my tickets by post?

  • Do children need a ticket

    Yes, children aged 15 and under will need a ticket for entry to the venue. Please ensure that you select the number of child tickets you require at the time of purchasing.     Yes you can – we highly recommend buying in advance to avoid disappointment and to take advantage of the best ticket prices

  • Where can i park/ travel options?

    To ensure your visit to Silverstone runs as smoothly as possible please ensure you leave plenty of time for your journey and to make the most of your day. Parking onsite is free (with the exception of the British Grand Prix and MotoGP), please follow signs for public parking and take directions from our parking stewards. The nearest mainline train stations are Milton Keynes and Northampton. please check connecting bus services in order to ensure you arrive at Silverstone at a convenient time. Alternatively taxi journeys are approximately 30 minutes from these stations to Silverstone.


    Silverstone is situated between three stations; Northampton, Milton Keynes and Banbury. They are all approximately 30 minutes from Silverstone.

  • What time do gates open?

    8am each day.


    Car parks open up to half an hour before circuit gate opening times. Please note that this is subject to change.

  • How much does it cost to park?

    Parking is free for this event

  • Do i need a parking permit for my motorcycle

    Parking for motorcycles is free and a permit is not required to park

  • Can i camp at Silverstone?

    There are no camping facilities at Silverstone for this event, the nearest campsite is Whittlebury Park. Please contact Whittlebury Park on 01327 850 000

  • Food & Drink

    We have a wide range of vendors to suite all tastes, serving a variety of traditional hot snacks including burgers, fish and chips, jacket potatoes, pies, paninis and of course vegetarian food. There are also a number of licensed bars serving beer and other refreshments. Please kindly note that glass bottles are not permitted within the circuit at any time and you will be asked to leave any at the gates should you try to bring them in.

  • What items are not allowed into the venue?

    The following items are not permitted into the venue:

    • Bags with a capacity of over 20L
    • Glass bottles
    • BBQ’s
    • Restricted and illegal substances
    • Offensive weapons
    • No animals (excluding Assistance Dogs) will be admitted to the Venue or any car parks. All registered assistance dogs are welcome. However, before your arrival please contact the circuit on 0844 3728 251 (Mon-Fri 8:30am – 5:30pm only) so that the necessary arrangements can be made
    • Items that are deemed dangerous, offensive or unsuitable
    • Drones or remote controlled aircraft
    • Step ladders
    • Lasers
    • Fireworks/ pyrotechnics

    Silverstone Circuits Ltd and the police have a zero tolerance policy to illegal substances. The dealing in or use of illegal drugs is not condoned by Silverstone Circuits Ltd. Drug enforcement laws are as applicable on site as anywhere else in the country. Police officers and security guards will be onsite and will deal with drug offences in accordance with national guidelines. Neither anti-social nor illegal behaviour will be tolerated. You may be searched at the entrance. Any items which the organisers consider may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. Persons suspected of carrying out illegal and/ or offensive activities onsite may be searched. Offenders will be escorted off the site, and refused re-admission.
